Il be the first to admit that I do swear, and have done on the forum a few times. I think its probably because I do in real life fairly often that sometimes when I post, some words slip in there and I don’t even notice.
I think that we should keep our language civilised on here though. I mean, if you swore all the time it’d get boring!
Wasn’t this fun? Sorry, but Bruce was a bit sloppy with this expression. The English usage “elephant in the room” refers to avoidance of an obvious truth. There are other common usages including the word “elephant” that mean same thing. The elephant can be said to be on the table, in the corner, or any other place where it really can’t hide. The idea is that an elephant is a rather large and active animal so it should be a challenge ignoring its presence. The term “pink elephants”, as was mentioned elsewhere, refers to the visual hallucinations of those experiencing delirium tremens due to abrupt withdrawal from alcohol. Bruce mixed his usage a little in his title. Miss Ayelery will certainly emerge soon to rap his knuckles with a ruler.
But why can’t my elephants be pink? It’s a nice color. Is that too non-conformist-like and bucking the trends? Then again, I am scared of Miss Ayelery. I really should be more careful.
On the 19th May 2001, Nektarios Fintikakis and Georgios Mavroleon put Hania into the Guiness Book of World Records by making the world’s largest pita bread, and then stuffing it with the world’s largest ever souvlaki. The pita bread was 1.9 metres by 1.6 metres, and the souvlaki weighed in at a hefty 270kg.
I was going to say I like the.mars.volta for being controversial, almost a borderline troll in many threads. But then I saw he had like a trillion posts in this thread. Now I think he’s just annoying.
