I’d like to know if anyone has bloodied or scarred their shins with Odyssey
Twisted PC Platform Pedals.
I switched from more aggressive pedals to the Odyssey Twisted PC on my 29er
and KH24 recently, because I don’t want more scars on my shins and I don’t
want to wear leg armor/shin guards every time I ride. They’re advertised on Unicycle.com as “made of shin-friendly plastic composites”.
If you want any sort of traction Pins are good, I really think they outweigh the danger that they cause to your shin that can be prevented by wearing pants or leg armor with the plastic pedals. (Pants arnt the best you still can get hurt in a mis-hap)
The PC’s are a solid pedal for XC and Muni but the pins to wear off in time. You could probably get some big crappy cruiser bike pedals that have ruberized platforms that wont cut up your legs but you’ll deffenatlly comprimise traction so if your riding off road or even arround town expect your feet to slide arround a bit and be prepaired for the occasional spill.
Thoes might be good, I have never used them but no pins and rubberized tread for grip. They wont grip as much as pins will but they wont rip you to shreds either.
