So not that it has been an issue in my riding or strength or anything, but.I was wondering if anyone can tell me the correct way of working the shim on my koxx…?
Whenever tightning the seatpost clamp the shim sticks up above the top of the frame about 1/4-1/2 inch.
I just slide the clamp to the top of the shim, works alright but it should all be flush right?
Anyone have this problem? Anyone know a trick to gettin it all the way down?
yeah i had that problem…
u can either put it on the seatpost and put it in that way…or put it in the tube all the way and when u are pushing your seat down dont pull it back up because it will start to pull the shim out…
make sure u have a little bit of grease on your seatpost tube too…
my seatpost was a pain to get in…
I have tired both of those ways. That is why i post the question. If i start with the shim in. hte post with not fit , if i start with the shim on the post i cant get the shim all the way down not even after bangin with putty knife and hamer.
Should i stretch the frame and shim a tinny bit or just leave it a bit extruded from the frame and not worry, since it hasnt been a problem yet?
no dont stretch the frame…thats a really bad idea…
we got the post to go in after we put the shim on the seat post and pushed the shim first then seatpost into the frame.,keep in mind though that the shim is still on the seatpost…
so put the shim half way on the bottom of the seatpost and get the shim into the frame, then start pushing the seatpost in however far u want it in…the shim will go down with seatpost…
u dont just push down on the seat when u put it in either…try twisting and pushing down on the seatpost when trying to get it in…
after u get the seatpost in and out of the frame a few times it gets easier and easier…
