Not in unicycling. I’m not sure about the bike version, which I think is roughly the same thing. But remember Freestyle unicycling is a performance, while the far-less-defined flatland is probably similar to Street in that it’s mostly about doing the moves and much less about entertaining an audience.
Daiki and Kaori are both experts at Freestyle, but of course they are also capable of doing non-performance flatlandy stuff.
For lack of a proper definition, for now I think of unicycle flatland as a combination of Street riding on flat ground, and Freestyle riding without necessarily choreography, costume and required entertainment value.
Street and Flatland are both subsets of Freestyle, which allows for any props or cycles. Which is not to say they are the same, because they aren’t!
On the topic of the Shaun/Xav debate, I was going to ask if anyone cared what either of those guys thought of the idea? But then Shaun finally came in and said he would love the idea. Too bad unicycle videos aren’t moneymakers, as that one would be a guaranteed sell!
