setting up a "grind" rail at home

yeah, thanks ntappin that was really helpful I might go learn to grind today!

would this skateboard type rail be good?

and look at this pic-the rider’s right foot seems to be firmly on the crank! Is this normal, and is it done to make it easier to keep the pedals horizontal?

Heres a rail I made a little while back.

KH.

I am pretty sure that is on accident.

That pic is Jess btw.

That rail is alright, but you are going to be wanting to use it at its highest setting, and it is likely to flip as I don’t think those supports are made to handle the sideways forces of a unicycle hitting it. Also a longer one would be better so you don’t have to get on right at the beginning, but that is more of a confidence thing.

I can’t grind or anything, but check out the rail/ledge/box thing that they have in “Trials Course Love 99” I think it has some sort of a metal surface on the edge to make it slide easier. It looked like it would be pretty easy to make too, and you can make it whatever hight/length/angle you want.

/drool at jess’s awesome pink trials uni

spencer: did you get the 10:80 grind rail thingy that has three supports and is really really skinny? One of my friends has one of those. it doesn’t really work for unis…
