Hi, anybody checked out the semcycle trial 20’’ sold by unicyclesource ?
Specifically for robustness ?

I believe it has the same frame as the sem deluxe with a Monty Trials tyre. By
all accounts Monty Trials tyres are a lot of fun and take a lot of the pressure
off your unicycle by acting as a shock absorber.

With a normal tyre I’ve managed to bend my sem frame and the seat so its perhaps
not as robust as some other setups. (or I could just be too heavy and too hard
on my unis:-)

Hi Olivier!

I saw a Semcycle Deluxe frame fold like a cheap crutch at the long jump event
in Adrian this year. Wasn’t even that long a jump. It bent at the base of the
seat post.

I suggest that you get the 24" United pillow block frame from Unicycle Source
($34) instead: my sons have dished out a lot of punishment to a couple of them,
and they hold up fine. They accept the Monty wheel well. I have suggested this
option to John at Unicycle Source, and they are open to doing it.

Blessings!

Depending on how rough you’re going to be riding it and how big you are, I think
the semcycle will be adequate for most riders. However, I believe unicycle.com
knows a builder who is soon going to be working on a custom trials frame…

but, in the meantime world famous uni frame builder Paul Wyganowski from Osell’s
Bicycle and Unicycle in Minneapolis is working on his first trials frame for the
Monty wheel. I should have our first design in my possesion next week for a mild
thrashing. When the final design is complete I’ll submit a report.
