Seats again

Since I am new to unicycles and never having ridden one before, I bought a 20"
Cycle Design from a local bicycle dealer. It appears to be about average for
entry level learners models. The seat that came on it is exactly like the one
shown in Unicycle Source’s list of current Savage models. I’ve never been on
another uni seat, how does this one stack up? I’ve noticed a review of a Cycle
Design uni that showed a 1995 model and it didn’t have the same seat as I have.

Another thing is this seat is one sided on the seat post, that is it’s not
centered front and back to the post. Both ends are the same, which end is the
front? I’ve seen pictures of this same seat mounted both ways. On the Savage the
seat clamp bolt is mounted to the front, if you consider the back being where
the seat post clamp bolt is on the frame tube. In other words the post clamp is
on the rear. My seat came mounted the other way around. But that doesn’t mean
much as they also had the wheel mounted backwards. With the name decal to the
front and seat post clamp bolt to the rear they had the pedals on wrong sides,
left on the right side, etc. I had to unbolt the bearings and turn it around.
They are not unicycle people as the bicycles they deal with have the pedals
mounted the right way in the frame already.

Next time I will buy from Unicycle Source.

Re: Seats again

When I bought my first uni…(Savage) it had the seat you are describing. I have
it mounted with most of the seat to the front. I tried it both ways, and really
couldn’t see/feel any difference. “yoda” <yoda@socket.net> wrote in message

Then your seat was like the pictures on the Unicycle Source site, opposite of
the way mine is. I’ve thought of turning around a half turn. Thanks.
