Seat post needed

I’ve recently aquired a new 5 1/2 ft. unicycle. Unfortunately, I need a taller
seat post. What I’m looking for has a 28.6 mm (1 1/8 in) diameter and is about
350mm (13 3/4 in) long. It needs to have a “conventional” top (tapers to about
7/8 inch). Please pardon any confusion on my part, this is my first post to this
group and I’m not up on all the unicycling terminology.

I can’t imagine a 9" seat post being long enough for a 6" 1" person. Are you
sure you’re riding with a healthy seat height? Schwinn made 9" and 14" lengths.
It’s probably too late to try ordering from a Schwinn dealer, but you could try
and see what results you get. Then there are Tom Miller and Semcycle. I think
Semcycle has three different lengths:

All those pictures in The Unicycle Book of Jack Wiley dressed in black were
taken in 1960, I believe. The average shoe and the average pedal were a little
different then.

Riding with the ball of the foot directly over the pedal axle gives you the
greatest mechanical advantage and makes the pedal an extension of your leg &
foot. I ride that way 99% of the time.

Some riders, especially on the trails, prefer the center of the foot, especially
if wearing boots with heels. Many find they get more torque for going up those
steep hills, but you don’t get the full leg extension you get with the pedal
further down the foot.

That’s the point, I think my seat is too low and I can’t get it any higher, I’m
on the last hole.

I love those pictures…it’s Elvis Costello on a unicycle! Thanks for advice.

Schwinn dealers can order the seat extension for you. I got two of them last
year. The part number is 95005 (the sticker on mine is worn, but that’s what it
looks like.) The price is $15.00
