rubik's cube

i got my rubik’s cube today and finnally after the 4rth try, i solved it for the first time in my life!(i used the hint booklet that came with it though, is that cheating?) does anone heer do speedcubing you should post a video. im gonna do it again in a few minutes.so any rubiks stories or times post them here.

james potter is apparently good. but yea theres a lot of good rubiks cube people on here. im not one though.

yeah i guess that was a stupid question i allready knew there was a lot of rubik’s cubers(?) on here

Here’s a neat story:

I was playing with one in my english class trying to figure out the lars method (I think that’s what it’s called). Some people noticed me playing with it and wanted to see how long it took me to solve it. I let one of them mix it up and I began to solve using my old home-brewed method (top face, corners, bottom face, middle layer). As luck would have it, as I finished the first side all the other pieces were in the right place, all flipped the right way. a completely solved cube in about 20 moves. everyone thought i was a god

dude thats like the least amount of moves ever the website says they can be solve d with between 15 and 22 moves and no one has ever found solutions in that little moves

I almost broke my speed record the other day and made a real solve in like 24 seconds… however I did something wrong and ended up with one cubie in the wrong spot… I was pissed.

I guess you could say I’m rather good…I haven’t really practiced in a while unfortunately. when I was at my peak, my average was almost exactly 20 seconds, maybe 20.2 seconds. my fastest time ever is 14.53 seconds…there used to be a guy on these here fora, cybeross, or Ross Palmer, who’s REALLY fast. he averages 18 seconds, and his record is 13.something. so yeah, I guess I’m good, but I’m not the best ( :

And your smiley faces are always backwards  (:

thats because I’m left handed (:

speaking of rubik’s cubes, I’ve just solved the 4x4! :stuck_out_tongue:

Or youre upside down. Or you have an unfortunate deformity with eyes on your chin and you are frowning. Or the parenthesis is just the dome on your noggin and you didn’t put your smile or frown there to leave us wondering how you’re feeling.

Or you could be left handed. &::"{ Figure that one out!

That is cheating :stuck_out_tongue:

Back when I started playing with the Rubik’s Cube they didn’t come with hint booklets or solutions. The cubes did come with an address where you could send some money to Ideal Toy’s and get a solution. I learned to solve it on my own. Only after learning to solve it did I look at solutions to learn better and faster ways to solve it.

I’m down to sub 30 seconds. I’m just starting on finger tricks, so once I have those down, I think I’ll get my time up.

You should have soved it on your own first, it’s way more rewarding.

I’ve always been very mechanically inclined. I learned to solve the cube with a FLAT BLADE SCREWDRIVER

ya i was thinking on doin it on my own the first time but the booklet was just screaming at me to look so i did, but hey atleast i had to start over like five times anmd i did end up throwing the cube out of frustration so i dont think its that much of cheating.

That stupid help booklet only confused me. I couldnt make heads nor tails of it.

for cube solutions, the booklet that comes with it is pretty crappy.
you can find some quality solutions online.

the boolket is the only solution i actually could make sense of all the ones i found on th e internet are confusing, i guess ill try them again once i get good at the 7-steps solution (is this the layers method i keep hearing about?)

I love solving rubik’s cubes - I can usually solve them in about 1-1.5 minutes. I do it the “long” way because I have no real inclination to solve a cube in 20 seconds… solving it in a minute is good enough for me

the booklet confused me, if you want a good solution to it try my site:
http://brianwood.homeunix.net/nickjantz/index.php?page=Rubiks_Solution
i compiled two different solutions, so it is really good
