Review-2007 KH Freeride 24"

That uni is so nice!

I used…are you ready?..here it comes…READY??? Blue painter’s tape! Doubled over so there’s no stick, then put around rim, then the original rim tape put back over that. Worked like a dream and matches the frame really close! The guy at the LBS suggested it so I quickly ran over to rite aid and bought a roll, and he not only did the rim tape thing, but also switched the gazz from my '05 freeride to my '07, and the new duro (that came on the new '07) over to my '05! All for just $10!!! (I tipped him $5)

Look at my baby now! It’s ready to roll…mojo and all!

Woah, that is so cool.
Terry you seem to buy a lot of munis…are you going to get a geared one when they come out?

Nah. I like working hard on the trails! But this is actually only my third muni; Torker DX (the camo one) got me started, then sold it, then the 2005 kh, which I still have and will prolly use as a backup, and now the '07 kh muni, which I love! But since my friend Jim bought one first, I just had to get one also! Can’t be one upped! hahaha! :sunglasses:

So, Terry, if you’re thinking about putting your airseat from your 2005 on your 2007, I’ll trade you my 2006 fusion seat for your 2007 fusion seat…if you’re up for it…

Jury’s still out on the '07 saddle 'till I’ve had a chance to put in some good muni-miles in the seat. If I do switch the saddles, I’ll probably still keep the '07 seat for my '05 freeride.

no scratches or mud on a KH?
what a disgrace to Muni-kind

Terry, with dirt and mud and water, painters tape wont last, it’s paper based. I am still working on the lead of blue rim tape.

There soon will be! Just haven’t really ridden it yet! Gotta break it in and get it good 'n dirty! Yeah!

I thought about that, but it’s supported very well by the regular rim tape on the top of it. We’ll have to just see how it lasts. Another option would be to use regular blue vinyl tape, if you can find it wide enough. And if you don’t mind black, just cut an smaller inner tube to use as rim tape.

I love it, My hub and crankset is brilliant. Its really nice, I also love my silver spokes, no creaking. Nice Uni’s guys!

Mike

P.S I only have the '07 Moment hub and cranks.

Yeah, on the ride, whenever Tim or I would fall, the muni would clank, bounce, rattle, etc. When Jim’s '07 would fall, it would make one sound of a hollow tube hitting the floor. A dull metallic thud. No rattlings, no creakings, just a very solid sound. In my opinion, the frame is indeed stiffer and everything more solid in general.
