East Texas is FINALLY getting much needed rain. We have needed it for months. This drought has been terrible. I have only mowed the yard twice so far this year. On the way back from from the coast yesterday, I saw helicopters dumping water on forest fires in Jasper county. Hopefully we will get more rain so our lakes will fill back up.

It hasn’t rained in months here either.
It’s supposed to rain all week.
That’s not so good for unicycle practicing,
but it’s good for just about everything else!

Why is that not good for practice? I just got in from practicing! It was barely sprinkling though. I got in some practice between showers. When the lightning started up again, I went in the house!
Depends on your pedals. Some get as slippery as ice when they are wet. So, if you go out after the rain stops and everything is still wet, you could have a dangerous foot-slip-off-the-pedal accident.
I have Shinburger pedals (black) on my 36er (purple). When wet, my sneakers slide right off (but my “MUni” shoes don’t, so I wear them instead).
Anyone who wants some rain you can have some of ours.
Driving back up here from home yesterday I had to change my planned route 5 times because of flooded roads and washed out bridges.
Way too much rain recently.

My pedals are slick when wet, so I fear the pedals as well as the wet cement.

Maybe I should get some different pedals.
Then I could practice when it is cooler… after a nice rain.

Rain or not, I was riding today. It didn’t rain. Oh well. When it does rain, I’m hoping my work boots have enough traction to overcome the lack of friction on the pedals. I could get new pedals, but I’m saving for a 29muni.
