Well, that coffin is sealed… This tyre is 119 Euros on the German UDC compared to the TA at 89 and the Nightrider at 99. It’s going to be have to be something special to persuade me to buy that over the other two!
So, one year later , Is Martin Charrier the only one who rides with this tire?
I just asked him his thoughts about this tire and he told be that it’s his favorite 36er tire, light, fast, turns well.
Asked if the section profile was not too square : No, it’s rather round.
Another great point.
He didn’t try off road with it though but thinks it should handle it as well as the NR does.
I’m am thinking about using it for the G36 I’m gonna build.
UDC UK is now selling the Vee36, but very expensive. I had one but came back to a NR one year ago as almost same weight and less sensitive to camber especcially when worn out
Martin also told me that the King George turned better than the V-rubber
Yes it is !
I have conscientiously weighted the Pro and Cons about Rim brake Vs Disc and decided to choose the safer and simpler : Maggies, which I already have.
I also installed my spirits 127/150 on the hub (to see if they still fit the schlumpf spindle without bottoming out) which still is on my 29er.
Now I’m In Touch with Romain for most of the needed gear to make this G36 a reality, will probably order some stuffs from UDC as well, to complete the project, as soon as I have figured out the spoke length question.
If I go with a King George on the G36, my Nightrider tire will probably stay on my ungeared 36er with 145 cranks for occasional and short bike + 36er trips.
The G36 will be for my lonely rides during the week and longer/more serious week end trips.
