About 8-9 feet to a wooden tranny. Another drop of about 7 feet to dirt tranny.
Universe 2 shoot. No problems. Just hurt ankles. Note: this was done on a 24"
Alex DX32 rim, Gazz 3.0, and 175mm Dirt Jumper Profiles (the stronger ones.)

I have no real world experience with drops. But from what I’ve seen and
read, how well you can absorb the shock of a given drop with your body
will greatly improve the chances of your equipment surviving impact.
Also, whether or not you successfully roll out of a drop. I guess what
I’m saying is, your mileage may vary…

Just out of curiosity, how do I tell if my Profiles are Dirt Jumpers or “the weaker ones?” How much “stronger” are the Dirt Jumpers?

I believe that the dirt jumpers have a larger outer diameter. I’m not sure
about the strength issue though. Are the “weaker ones” (as if there are weak
profile components) called the racing cranks? I think getting the Dirt Jumpers
is over-kill unless you are breaking them left, right, and center, (ie: more
than once) Plus, it’s not gonna happen unless you’re Chris Reeder (the only
person (that I’ve heard of) to break a set of profile cranks… also the guy I
bought my crankset from! 
) Although David Poznanter was said to have broken
some of profile’s prototypes.

No David only broke the prototype hubs - he never broke a profile crank.
Chris is the only one I know of who did and he switched to the Dirt Jumpers
and didn’t break any more. And he was going 8’ onto flat concrete too. It’s
good to hear you have them now - they found a good home.
The Drop rating will vary greatly depending on how much force you can take
out by landing into rolling vs landing more statically. Also the slope of
the landing is a big factor…

It’s not the distance, it’s how you land. Some of the people here could consistantly land 7-8 foot drops on a wheel/rim/hub/crank, while a non-experienced person would break it on 4 foot drops.
just start with small dropps, and work up, most people hit their fear barrier before they break their profile,
just because your unicycle can take the force of a 9 foot drop dosent in any way mean that you can actualy land it without hurting yourself.
as for the profile dj cranks, i’m sure that profile would make you a unicycle hub with a titanium axle if you asked nicely and paid plentycashdollar.
I don’t think I could jump 9 feet without a unicycle, let alone blummin’ on one. The highest drop I think I’ve ever done was the one in my last video, which was maybe just over two feet, and the landing from that seemed hard enough…
The noise recorded when I jumped it landing next to the camera is just scary…

The TI axle wouldn’t be as strong as the standard cromoly axle. But the TI would probably save you about 4 ounces.
quite possibly but just think about the extra monney you could spend!
i suppose the Ti axles are just a sucker extra for loaded bmxers
