I’m new to unicycling. I could ride short distances (25 ft) after spending a
couple of hours on a friend’s unicycle. So I ordered a Semcycle XL from Tom
Miller. I love my new uni, but there seems to be a problem with my pedals. It
appears that the “L” and “R” pedals are threaded so that they naturally tend to
unscrew, rather than tighten. More specifically, the threads on my R pedal are
of the “normal” (or right-handed) type, and the threads on the L pedal,
left-handed, which is opposite of what I would expect.
Am I totally missing something or is that the way they should be? I’m pretty
sure I matched the L and R pedals correctly and didn’t fit the saddle the
wrong way.

Maybe you are riding it backwards… Spin the seat around maybe?
The pedal marked “R” goes to your right foot. The pedal marked “L” goes to your
left foot.
