Awesome ride! There’s a thread about home-made brake spooners too, I think people would be interested to read about yours
Too big? Not at all! My first real uni was a 29er and I MUni’d on it long before I was good enough to be called a rookie
Looks great! The terrain in the background of that photo looks like a perfect place to get started.
All russian roads are not bad to start muni lol.
Great buddy you have…treasure the time together.
My old buddy just passed away last night
To doggy heaven, i will miss him…
Sorry for your loss mate
Yeah of 15yrs, bonded so much to my wife… Lost him twice. First was when my wife was still in Hong Kong with child over the summer. Miraculously he came back alive from 5%, i really dont know how, when he was completely limp in my arms…
Last night he looked into my wife’s eyes and finally said goodbye, in my wife’s arms…
Dogs have a funny way of working their way into your heart. There’s no love in this world that is like the love of a dog.
I feel ya, and send my condolences.
Thanks,
Yeah, they do…I always said that dog had only one owner, and my wife was it…
Though, twice I ended up sobbing like a little baby,
I miss that little dude,
I swore I heard him barking as I came home from work today, or that’s just my memory playing tricks on me.
(I took him unicycling once, and he nearly went under the wheel, she would’ve killed me and/or my unicycle.)

Making an “Impact”!
While my KH MUni frame is being repaired, this is my back up, with matching white brake, hub and saddle trim! Was tricky getting the brake adjusted right because the impact frame is considerably narrower than the KH and the maggies have barely enough clearance even when backed away from the rim wall as far as possible. I almost needed grind the pads down to make them fit.
Kh29
My first Muni, I got it on Tuesday (28th April).
Only had it for 4 days, been on 3 Muni rides on it already! I was quite surprised I managed to go up in the woods, considering I’ve only ridden a 20" before this. I’ve never tried any others either, I don’t know anyone who can ride unicycles. I saw 2 young girls on unicycles who where very good (they where only 7/8!) when I went on holiday in October and someone else (He wasn’t even that good at it). So I’ve only seen 3 other Unicyclists before. I hear all the time people say they can ride it at school (they can’t).
Everything on it is stock. I feel like I could do with a brake, as the woods where I live the hills are very steep. I can go down them, but it is quite painful. I might get one in a couple of months time, as this was very expensive so I need to save up for a while. I had to cut down the seat post quite a bit, (Even the cut down post was too high for me).

Awesome muni, 29" is of couse too big for brakeless muni riding, but this experience will help you to reinforce skills. The cranks are 150? Looks, like 170++ . The seatpost is quite short, what’s your height?
I feel like posting in the forum today!
I bought a stock quax 26 muni around two years ago as an all around town and XC uni…Now that I’ve got a Oracle 36 the 26 hasn’t been used much untill this summer. At last I fitted a brake and afterwards got the spirit cranks (the quax ones kept rubbing my boots…). At first I wasn’t sure about getting the Magura rim brakes (I’ve got a dic brake on the 36er) but they work very well and they are zero maintenance so far. I also replaced the seat with a spare nimbus gel saddle I had lying around (the 36 has a zero saddle now). Also fitted a new tyre (the Kenda one that came with it was worn out from so much town riding):Maxxis High Roller Tyre 26" x 2.5".
So far it works great, and I’m really loving doing Muni in the nearby plantations. Much more fun that I expected (I tried Muni when I first bought it but I wasn’t good enough to go down rooty, steep muddy paths so I found it a bit boring as I was just cycling along the fire roads). Now that I am more in control when unicycling is a complete different experience. The brakes make a massive difference and the tyre seems to cope with mud and roots really well. Fantastic! I can see now why other unicyclists go on about Muni. Knackering though
Judging from the picture, your seat handle, brake handle (spooner) and tyre are exactly alined. That implies that if your uni falls forward, your brake handle is likely to take a hit with the slightest ondulation in the terrain (or a stray stone in the wrong place). I’d place the brake handle 1 or 2 cm further backward, if I were you.
Well spotted Klaas Bil. I fitted it a few weeks ago and forgot all about it. Thanks for the reminder. It was something I was worried about back then. With the nimbus seat: the brake mount is quite short, the saddle handle is also short and the brake lever is very long. So it is as far back as it can go with that Magura brake lever. I just replaced the Quax saddle back and beacuse its saddle handle is a bit longer than the nimbus the brake lever can be pushed back along the brake mount into safety and doesn’t stick out so much.
Thanks
My just assembled Muni with Fat/+ tyre project : (HS33 will be mounted further).
From my old Kahero muni:
47mm drilled wheel,
seatpost,
Qu-handle
New parts:
Sully knard 26x3,
swchalbe 185gm tube,
kh 2015 frame,
kh fusion street saddle,
145 qu-ax/137 spirit cranks,
nimbus pedals + 23mm pedal-extenders,
Magura HS33 + spooner (sill have to mount it).
First ride today, was fun as hell ! so smooth, bouncy and lightweight !
goes everywhere I want it to go, like if I was an experimented muni rider, which I am not!
Holy handlebar!
Any reason you mounted it on the frame instead of bringing the clamp up to the seatpost and moving the bar inward? Knee clearance?
I haven’t seen that done, but I don’t know if it’s advisable. You may want to make sure the seat-tube goes down far into the frame to be where the clamp is. If you have a crash, it looks like it may possibly damage the frame.
There are shims available I’m sure.
I didn’t think about seat-tube, you may be Right.
If I am not wrong, this handlebar is designed to be mounted on the seatpost or on the frame.
The only annoying stuff is the T part rubbing the inward part of the legs if I mount it on the seatpost or on the higher part of the frame, and if I mount it too low on the frame my knees can touch the front part of the handlebar.
The pics are not showing my last settings.
After the pics I tried different settings and finished my mounting it in the middle of the frame (where I’m pretty sure the seatpost is).
Thus I wasn’t touching the T too much (only sometimes with my right leg only, I don’t know why) nor the handle loop.
I could give the higher part of the seatpost a try (closest to the saddle) cause it has been a long time I since didn’t try this.
But I’m almost certain that the T will rub against my large legs.
