For Paris, send a PM to someone by the name of “wobbling bear”, or
wait till he sees this thread. He rides in Paris with a group of
riders and always welcomes foreign unicyclists.

I know someone who used to practice in Amsterdam (by the name of John
Bruinen). His site is http://www.eenwieleren.nl/ . I myself live
about 50 km from Amsterdam.

Munich, no info except for a 14 y.o. girl who lives about 15 km south
of Munich.

I live in Amsterdam, and train on the streets and in the playground
just around the corner.

capital punishment for stupidity, but why don’t we just take the
safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Sybren, can you email me your contact info? I’m leaving Europe out of Amsterdam on Tuesday, and will probably spend the night at a hostel Monday night. It might work out to meet and ride. I was in Amsterdam at the start of my trip and I rode all around the city on my trials uni. It was on a Saturday morning when no one was out, but I didn’t find very good trials riding spots. It would be great to cruise around though on a bigger wheel, though.

Anyway, here’s my email: jess at unicyclejester dotcom

You were in Amsterdam and you didn’t email me?:stuck_out_tongue:
I would come and ride with you for sure.
Would be great to ride with you.
Next time you are in Nederland or Belgium email me please.:stuck_out_tongue:

Depending on my work schedule, I could join in the fun. I live just 40km north of Amsterdam, and a train ride would be well worth riding with you again Jess. I’ll mail you (or you can mail me, T.F.Schaap AT student.tudelft.nl) wether or not I’ll be able to make it. What kind of timeframe are we talking about, morning, afternoon, or evening ride?

Jo Sybren,

Let me hook you up with that girl that inspired you to go unicycling when she “walked” the dog.
In case you did’nt found out already; she live/works just few blocks from your house.
And before this unicon she already was nightguide to American participants before.
So (including Jess!) let’s meet monday evening/night?

I just see the test screen, nothing else :frowning:

Nice  I didn’t find out already

Definitely! I’ve emailed my home address and telephone number to the
other folks. Send me an email at sybren AT stuvel DOT eu and I’ll mail
you too.

Found another way to view the video (nice to know a bit about HTTP and
network sniffers ;-)) and it’s her indeed

Got them already without any forensic skills. My contact-details are’nt that hard to get or even guess either. Further I’m amazed we’ve still have’nt met. As well I was amazed to discover at least at 4 other unicyclists, that live at that nice playground-square near that AH at the Limburg v Stierum or whatever square.

Is it time to start a unicycle club in Amsterdam?

Adobe/Macromedia stopped making Flash plugins for Linux after version 6.
But besides I have quicktime, windowsmedia and real. Still people like to complain.
I cannot please everyone. Even as a Linux and especially FreeBSD user for over 8 years, I still don’t care much if uber-geeks are suffering.
Anyway, I saw we have more in common.

And guess who teached her…!

Fair enough.

I’m sure I’ll find them then. I added you to my MSN

That would be why we’ve never met, since I’m never even close to that
place. I live in Amsterdam Noord

Ehm… but why then do I have version 7 installed on my Linux box?

I don’t like to complain, but I don’t like not giving feedback either.

There are more people using Linux than just geeks.

Re: places for practicing in Paris, Amsterdam and Munich

Jess asked me to post this:

I’m in Hamburg, Germany right now, and unfortunatly I can’t login to
unicyclist.com for some bizarre reason. Please post this message for
me on there if you have time.

So if all goes right, I should be taking a night train from Copenhagen
and arriving in Amsterdam on the morning/mid-morning of Monday, the
14th. I would be up for a ride in the afternoon and/or the night. So
Leo, Tristan, and all others should come if they can and we can cruise
the city! Let me know where we are going to meet. A good place for
me if I end up staying at the Bulldog Hostel again would be Damm
Square.

Looking forward to it!

-Jess

As far as I’m concerned, I’m more comfortable in the north of
Amsterdam. From the north of Central Station, take the ferry
Buiksloterwegveer to the other side of the IJ and I’ll be able to pick
you up. My unicycling skills aren’t that good that I dare to ride
around the center of Amsterdam yet.
