you snowhoarder- damn yeah you guys were in the flow ALL last winter, we were in the flow for one weekend.
The high country is really beautiful these days, trekking/riding around treeline is amazing now, 11,660’-14,000’ good stuff I was raised in the 110-120F heat, left as soon as I could. Hang in there. Your girls look great on their uni’s.
I’ve lived through two different world record snow falls, both times in Washington State. It’s nice to live where you can snow ski in the morning and water ski in the afternoon of the same day thirty miles apart.
I had just bought a broom at the store and was carrying on my shoulder as I was riding home. Rounded a blind corner and almost ran into a guy who was carrying 200 eggs. Somehow rider, unicycle, and broom went three different directions, none of which went for the eggs.
Great riding. If you are ever going down that way take your bike. Did lots of rides along the side of the lakes, up in the hills and just hooning around.
Did the ride from Treble Cone back to Wanaka on the 36. That was a nice ride but would have been better with breaks
New Jersey has a very nice state park system and today I rode through part of Cheesequake State Park which is right off Exit 120 of the Garden State Parkway. It’s as woodsy as it gets for me. I start on the trail below and end up at the entrance to the park. There is a fairly steep hill along the ride, though it is on a section that is paved.
Cheesequake, of course, is a mispronunciation of a native American word.
BunjeeJoe, just wondering why you don’t use a T-bar or something similar? Have you ever tried one or do you just like to keep things as simple as possible? I can’t imagine doing any distance riding without one.
