Keirs the best under 18 fencer in the south, I’m quite good at Unicycling. Put it together and.. bam! New sport!
Me in a bush…
Thomas is slapping my head! Picture would look better if I wasn’t frowning!
Not exactly unicycling… but still cool
Cool! The first one is the best, I think, also you can’t see that much ![]()
The others are great, too, I’d love to be there right now and ride with a t-shirt in the warm sun!
Its not so warm anymore. its 7 degrees Celcius here!

Here’s one of James (Siafreid) and Mark (Osmundo) from our Snow Muni ride at Lookout Mountain, above Golden CO, last month. Great day of riding, about 10inches of powder up at the top, less down at the bottom of the mountain. The deep snow hid rocks that caused more falling than usual, but the fluffy powder made the UPD’s kind of fun. The snow was fresh and still falling when we started, so the forest was quite beautiful. We also saw a lot of deer, including two Bucks hooking horns over a herd of doe.
Thanks again for these two locals taking me out for such a fun ride in my brief visit to town.

Today’s ride turned to become a six hour mud fiesta.
In between the muddy parts I had lots of fun in high gear on the 26er.
There were lots of bikers out there giving me props all the time. And I saw 2 deer and 4 wild boars in the woods.
In one of the many large and deep puddles I took a dive, falling forward with my face straight into the puddle. Not very tasty stuff. And I was covered in mud more or less completely. I was quite exhausted at that point, but I still had about 25km to go. So I had some cereal bars and went on.
When I looked down at the muni I noticed that one of the shift buttons had come out quite a bit. So I screwed it back inwards a little. When I tried to tighten the little allen bolt inside the button it didn’t work. It just kept moving further inwards causing the button to move out. So I gave up on tightening it and went on riding.
5km later my hub made some pretty loud noises. I was expecting the bearings to disintegrate any time now, which apparently was what was happening… The side to side slop of the wheel got really bad too. Then the hub sort of locked up in high gear throwing me forwards… That’s when I decided it was no longer safe to ride in high gear. But it was raining cats and dogs and I was still a good 20km from home. And I had been riding for some 40km of mtb trails and was getting pretty sore and tired. But I finally made it home alright pedaling like a maniac in this way too small small gear.
When taking the wheel apart I found one bearing cage to be completely gone and the rubber seal all chewed up.
So that was my last ride with M113. It’s going to meet it’s maker now.
All in all it was one of my longest rides on this muni, with all sorts of interesting surprises.
from our awesome ride at Chumash trail in Simi Valley. Me and Illan did the ride this morning, sans John Long, (Vivalargo) who had to bail due to a bad night’s sleep…I know how that goes! :o But we had a blast and this was a real test for Illan, who, after this one ride really improved his MUni skills! He also had way too much psi in his tire, so we let some out and that really helped. Here’s a few pics: ![]()
As I scrolled down this thread I thought the comments were under the photos. I thought to myself “That’s not unicycle fencing… it’s just a shot made to look like he’s resting on the fence! Real fencing involves digging holes and putting up posts etc…”
But it’d be cool to see some of that at BUC ![]()

That’s a Nimbus X if I’m not mistaken O:-)
how’dyou like that as a serious freestyle machine? I’m thinking about it for my next uni. How does this compare to a nimbus II and such? I love the long neck, my only fear is that I’ll be too short, I barely fit my 36er O_o (5’8", short inseam) the 36er is all I ride at the moment. I want to get into freestyle, and don’t want to have to upgrade much n.n’
Wow, George, that’s great to have so many kids into uni!
Lol!
Well we could put up some posts aswell ![]()
I use a 400mm frame and the seat post right up. On Uk UDC you can get it the frame size ranging from 150mm to 500m so, you’ll definetly be able to get one that fits.
if you end up getting one too shrot just put a longer seat post on it, If you get one too tall you can cut down the frame.
The Nimbus X is the freestyle I’ve riden! I got it when I could barely ride backwards and it’s seen me through too things like coasting.
I have replaced the pedals for odyssey Twisted Plastic pedals and as i got pedal down sized my Cranks from 125 to 114 and then to 100mm.
It’s also very strong, my friend who rides a Punk, doesn’t ride too often but is always breaking parts, nothing on the Nimbus X has ever broken for me.
Down side is that it’s not very good for doing much hopping.
7°C is pretty warm, although I wouldn’t ride only wearing a t-shirt in that temperature ![]()
Its pretty cold for me. I had the sniffles when i was riding the other day.![]()
We could have had more too. We had 4 miss due to a wrestling tournament, one had a prior engagement with the grandparents and a few just didn’t show up. We have two schools in the district that share unis so we have 56 together and a couple giraffes. At least 25 kids own unis too so that helps.
lol..hope you’re well again ![]()
From this morning at Sullivan Canyon. 48 degrees and I love it!
This is one of the only drops left on the this trail since the bulldozing…and it’s also the highest! The top is too wet, soft and crumbles easily, so after it drys and packs down I might consider it. It’s a solid 7 foot vert, but you would easily catch 8+ feet of air on the way down! ![]()
Just a quick ride at the local palos Verdes trail. Recovery is slow after the last fire, but it’s growing back. ![]()
Arrgh! Terry, I do so envy you Californians. Twenty five centimeters of snow last night here in Northern Ontario. More to come tonight, and the lakes are not yet frozen enough to ride on. Keep the photos coming, they give hope to those of us in withdrawal. ![]()
