With under 30 km left in the 800 km race, RTL competitors faced Kelly’s Mountain before the big finish in Baddeck, Cape Breton. The climb over the 7km (4.3 miles) is 787 feet. June 20, 2008, the last day of Spring, the longest day of the year, in more ways than one.
