What you are looking for are format-filling images .jpg in the dimension 1110x340 pixels
The pictures are intended to reflect the diversity of unicycling.
Because I’m not rich, I can’t pay much for the pictures, but I would reward them with a shopping voucher of CHF 10.
There don’t have to be professional unicyclists in the pictures. It can be anything from children playing, to unicycle tours in beautiful landscapes, to all the sports that can be done with the unicycle. They must be visually appealing.
If you think you have a nice picture that meets the above criteria, please send it to me via PM. But don’t be mad if I don’t need it because I’m very picky. There are a lot of unicycle pictures but few that are suitable for a slider 1110x340.
Images from Switzerland are preferred as it makes the most sense to redeem the voucher there.
You can keep both if you don’t mind using the ‘half way through a UPD’ perspective - a very authentic angle for many unicyclists! (only a rough shape, not accurate dimensions)
It’s nice, but not enough for me. The widescreen format unfortunately ruins the beautiful image. It’s not easy to find images suitable for this format. As soon as you crop them, they lose their beauty. Therefore, please suggest images in the specified format. You can also send them via private message.
It’s about the scene. I don’t care what kind of unicycles are in the pictures. There don’t have to be professionals either. Just no clowns in a circus on unicycles :D. It doesn’t have to be just mountain unicycling; it could also be a family outing on a unicycle, unicycling, freestyle, etc. It should showcase the diversity of this sport so that people feel drawn to it. There can also be small children on unicycles, etc. The more diverse, the better. However, the pictures must be well-suited to this specific format. Of course, what’s always good: unicycling in good weather with a beautiful background in any season. It’s best to take a look at the slideshow and if you think you have a good addition, send me the picture in the specified format. The picture with the Matterhorn would be perfect, but unfortunately, it’s not suitable for this widescreen format.
I’ve redone my ‘diagonal’ experiment above with the exact dimensions now that I have my computer out - this is now 1110x340. So if you think it works at this angle and @turtle is OK for his photo to be sampled like this, it could be used on your site.
I used this image as a slider image on the homepage. It fits well and emphasizes that it’s a Swiss shop. So, when should I issue the voucher to turtle or holyroller?
What I’m still looking for aren’t ammo pictures, but rather pictures that I haven’t yet included in the slideshow. But I’ll browse through the posts; maybe I’ll find something.
It’s now integrated into the homepage as the first image and looks fantastic (visible only on a computer; the slider isn’t displayed on smartphones). However, my Google ranking has plummeted. I hope it’s not because of the slider.
I’ll try it with the other format and then let you know if I use it.
