I havent tried from the spine yet. Ill need another phone book. lol
you guys thought you were good
kim jong ils bodyguards
our phone books over here are a good 4 inches thick.
You guys must be strong!
tearing a phonebook is quite simple, pinch the center down and an air pocket will form between each page… then u rip it. its like ripping a piece of paper
I’m beginning to get the feeling that the phone books in America are either made out of really thin paper compared to here in Australia, or I’m just weak. And I can bench press about 250lbs, so I’m leaning towards it being the former.
Did you watch that video, and try it?
It’s all about technique, strength is a secondary factor. If you haven’t got the technique, you won’t tear it, unless you’re some kind of a super-human.
I watched that video, and I just managed to put a tear into the side of a phone book, but I kind of need that phone book in case I ever need to find a number of someone who’s surname is A-K.
I’ll try it next time I have a phone book that isn’t mine. Then I’ll just carry phone books around with me to intimidate people who disagree with me.
dude… sorry bout not being able to get a vid of me doing it. once my parents waw the ripped phone book they freaked out. maby if i can find another one ill get a vid up
BandH books. They are a photography supplier they send free catalgs to us all the time! Use there books, everyonce in a while they will even send you a huge book like 3 inch’s thick. Usually there only about a half inch to an inch though. I would recommend there books for ripping.
I do that to text books…in my dreams…
But i’ve done it with notebooks.
Here is the link to the BandH books.
Fill out all the boxes for your interests and you will get catalogs more often to practice your ripping. But be careful, the pages are like regular paper, so there tougher to rip. But I’m pretty sure if you rip through one of the biggest books they have which is about 3 or 4 inches thick you will be able to rip through anything!
Sweet, I just ordered all the lighting, photo, digital photo, audio, and video ones. Ill read them, learn whatever is in them, then rip them!
Thanks!
I should probably also let you know that you want learn anything from them. Except maybe prices of stuff.
God that is a relief, i thought all you guys where ripping the Australian sized ones like in the vid above :o i was trying to work out why i wasn’t as strong as the rest of the unicycle community.
Thats the size we have in Spokane, so thats what I learned and first did it on.
I taught my gf to do it now. Its funny to watch because shes 5 foot, 100 pounds and ripping phonebooks. =p
lol my minds eye has conjured an amusing picture of that. i may just give it a try, it has always just been put in the two hard basket! and also the fact that if i need to find anyones number having two halves is not going to help my alphabatisation.
Their, there, they’re. I would recommend that you start reading some books rather than ripping them up. Where’s that adorable Miss Ayelery?
I once duct taped a 28 volume set of Encyclopedia Britannica together just to make something challenging to rip in half. No flimsy, sissy little phone books for me.
