Nice pics UniMyra, nice to have such a big community nearby.
By the way, do you know what wheelsize erlend is riding in his hatchet frame?
The Erlend you most likely refer to uses a 29" wheel (we have 2 Erlends- the second one is half famous now since he’s the unicyclist in the 2025 logo)
Well only one Erlend was riding a hatchet, so yeah it is pretty likely he meant that one (fame aside). ![]()
Sorry, I didn`t know that their are two Erlends. Yes I mean the one who is translating his unicycle book into english for years.
Does anyone know how things are going?
Each year I do my best to gather some statistics about the event. Unfortunately I am the worst to count. This year we had 32 unicyclists and 34 unicycles
So I counted each wheel size again after 5 km, and found out that we were actually 32 riders on 30 unicycles… ![]()
So this is the wheel size distribution from 2022 to 2025. The stipled line is amount of unicycles with brakes.
We have pretty much 3 cathegories of participants.
- The loyal core with 36" road riders doing the whole round
- The main bulk (~75%) with Munis in different sizes, mostly joining 1/3-2/3 of the round
- The beginners and kids on 20" or 24" who join only the first part until lunch
And ofc a few riders in none of or across the cathegoriers. The finishing statistics (8, 16, 24 km) for this year (similar each year):
And or share of females is quite stable around 14-15 %.
HEY! Who are you calling a kid? Have you seen my beard!? ![]()
![]()
I shall remind you that the last time I attended this event I was on a 24 and completed it. In addition at one point you and I discussed doing it on 16 inchers. Hmmph… kid indeed!
I also reckon that @SirCranky could do this complete course on a 20 inch faster than 90% of the people present. Is he a kid? Ok… actually, forget this last point. ![]()
I am afraid to ask him again.
It might be quicker if everyone just learnt Norwegian. You don’t have to be great at Norwegian. I mean my own Norwegian is pretty shit to be honest but I was able to read it. ![]()
bokmål eller nynorsk?
Den er på bokmål.
The only things I ever read in Norwegian were some Grøsserne books. The Goose Bumps books by R.L. Stine.
Kurt books look fun to read, but on Amazon.nl, I can only get them in German, English, French, Italian, Polish and Swedish, not in Norwegian. Silly. Would be fun to have the whole Kurt series in Norwegian, but they are prolly not printed anymore.
Unicycling should be done not read about ![]()
Hey @Canapin, I need a middle finger emoji. Can you help me out?
![]()
Already exists, though having it available for reaction would be nice
don’t tell @ManiusTerentiusPullus. He will abuse it.
I was/am waiting for yous Norwegians to point me to a website that ships internationally the Kurt series by Erlend, naturally in bokmål.
I love and miss you too! We should go for a ride and then a beer some time.
Haha.
I have a very long vacation coming up. I’ll be up for unicycling and beer from mid july and onwards
I would have loved to join you all on the weekend but once again I was busy with things for the kids. This is the problem with having small kids, you can’t do the nice stuff for yourself. ![]()

Since I could not make it, I just did my own, lonely version ![]()
I even did some circles on my own at Monolitten, just because we always do. This is what a sad lonely man I am.
From the real event
Me on my own (at least I got the direction, correct)
you understand that nobody takes you seriously anymore now, right…
