Off topic--The New Mini

This is off topic for unicycling, although it was after reading a thread a
couple weeks ago that I thought to ask this question. Someone was
wondering what wheel size to get, and the question came up because he
wanted the uni to fit in his Mini’s boot. Well, as a former owner of a
Mini, and someone who is on a waiting list to buy one of the new BMW-esque
Minis (due in the US in March), I wondered if any across-the-pond
newsgroup members had any comments on the new car, which I think has been
available in the UK since July. What ought I to know before plunking down
a load of money for a little car?

Thanks,

Peter

That was me. I got a 28" Nimbus (it’s great - unicycling.com rocks) which
will fit in the back seat but only a 24" or so will fit in the boot. It is
a Mini, after all.

Bah. Go to alt.autos.mini and get flamed there.

abomination, rediculous, offensive, dodgy-fuel-capped, “Go look up ‘Mini’
in a dictionary”, etc. Again, alt.autos.mini will help you out there -
just make sure you mark your post [OT] since the newsgroup description
implicitly says “British Mini”.

NB: Little cars aren’t 20% Bigger than a real Mini, or larger than
a VW Golf.

The "MINI"s I’ve seen are huge. Sadly they’re not as space-efficient as a
geniune Mini and despite the size they are relatively lacking in the
in-car and boot department.

Well, that’s one opinion. Personally I think they LOOK great!

For those in North America you won’t find it by typing in ‘mini’ with DOT
COM. Go to http://www.mini.co.uk/ and poke around a bit.
