what would you guys recamend
Ipod Videos, and Zunes seem to lead the whole industry in protable media. I’ve never heard of Archos.

The problem with that one is that it looks REALLY big, so unless you would want to use it primarily for watching movies, I’d go with a smaller one like the Vision M instead.
get a zune…theyre better than ipods…
I personally think the Ipod Video is better than the Zune. But either would be a better choice than any “Zen” or any other Wal-Mart thing.

If he’s a not-uninformed 12 year old, why is he asking a UNICYCLIST community about MP3 players, and expecting quality results. All I did was state my opinion:
And I stand by it. I do know what I am talking about when it comes to portable media, and I PERSONALLY THINK an Ipod video, is better than a Zune. And my experience with Creativ, has been a very unpleasant one. If you don’t mind it breaking, then go ahead and buy one. You’ll just end up buying an iPod in the end. So, I would advise you to save you the disapointment, and the moolah, and just get a good iPod, or even a Zune.

Archos is a very good french brand that has made a bit of a name for itself in the video industry. Their personal video players are second to non, but when I got my mp3 player from them it was at the time probably one of the best around, I bought it for the same price as the ipod at the time and it had a colour screen, video, photo, and games. This was back when the ipod was still black and white.
If you just google Archos you will come up with a ton. I’m pretty sure Best Buy and Futureshop have them too although a limited selection.
Hah I posted this before I actualy looked at your links. Both of those will be amazing. I don’t know how well those two in particular will stand up to using while you are riding though. Mine was perfect for riding for the first two years that I had it, then the hard drive unexpectedly died, but that was after two years. My friends ipod has gone through about 4 hard drives in that time and thats from doing nothing more than walking with it.

My friend and I both had Zen mp3 players. They both broke after a month. We weren’t even that hard on them.
I am sorry about your iPods, that must have really sucked, those things aren’t cheap. I would suggest you get a Microsoft Zune then, they are powerful little machines that are a very good buy. A decent price, and a very good gadget. Also, if you have a little trust in apple, you could try an iPod Video, I have had mine for quite a while, and it runs great. I would highly suggest it.

Well now you have one! Infact my friends younger brother has one and another one of my friends has the gmini 500 and all of them swear by archos now. Most have had their players at least a year or two now aswell. I bought mine when the first gmini400 came out so I don’t know how old that makes it but its much longer than most mp3 players.
no sarcasm. sorey i just hate it when people just say things without backing them up. and both my i pods where video. one the battery died and the other was a broken hard drive. but i still love apple so no Microsoft device will be hooked up to my mac and besides that it wont realy work
