Looking at getting a pair of one of these for my cotterless 36er after the originals twisted severely. Is the £6 extra for the Venture 2 worth it, or are they both adequately strong for street(ish) 36er riding?
hmm, i don’t know anything about the venture 2s. but i can tell you regular ventures are absolutely plenty strong for any 36er riding. the cranks will handle anything the rim will.
I think the V2 is machined from 6000 series aluminum, which stronger than the forged V1. V2 is made from the same stuff as the Moments. They are also shaped differently. They’re worth the money, esp if they’re going on a uni that will experience hard use.
Did you twist the taper insert or the crank arm?
