That is interesting. Not many people have 36" bikes but there really should not be any real difference whether the tires are on a uni or bike. Having both two tires blow off two rims is really bad. What kind of pressure were you using? what kind of terrain were you riding? Who did you get ahold of at UDC? That doesn’t seem like their typical response but I haven’t heard many other people complain about nightriders blowing off modern rims.
Only partly true. I have had skinny wheels that I ran up to 120 PSI (8 bar) but I mostly ride my 36er around 30 PSI (2 bar) but there are many of us that push the pressure limits of 36" tires.
In my experience the fit of 36" rims and tyres is/was pretty random and quite easy to end up with an unlucky (non) match. My Wheel-TA tyre was a very tight fit on my old steel rim (only just possible to get it on in fact), but such a loose fit on my Mk 1 Stealth rim that it blows off at 40psi. Luckily I usually run about 25psi so it doesn’t matter to me.
I know since I bought my kit an official ISO size has been agreed so things ought to be better now, but I’m not that surprised if it’s still fairly variable.
next, about “That doesn’t seem like their typical response”
when my first tire jump off, “they” write something about free change it, but few days later, when second tire jump off too, they change they opinition.
