Hey everyone
I am Anne.
I am looking for a new saddle solution.
The nimbus air sounds very good.
Is there anyone who has tested it?
I’ve been using it for over a year, it’s by far my favourite saddle with cycling pants on. Without cycling pants I’d go for KH freeride, which is very comfortable as long as you don’t get sweaty.
I’ve been riding a Nimbus Air on my 36er, recently moved it to a 29. I just added a Nimbus Air Saddle cover to it last week. Felt pretty good for distance over the weekend, I need more time in the saddle to tell if the cover is an improvement though.
Just for comparison - I had replaced a Fusion One on the 36 and the Nimbus Air was a definite upgrade for me. I haven’t used a Freeride… but my favorite saddle overall is still the KH Fusion Street.
I’m a air saddle cover fan, I have them on all of my unis except my 24 Oracle. It will make any saddle more comfortable. I promise that .
I also love my air saddle cover.
I made a thread detailing my experience. Ive been riding it on all my unis for over year now and its worth every penny
Thank you
I have the QX Eleven and the Kris Holm Fusion Freeride. Now I want to replace the saddle nimbus Stadium through a better one.
The saddle cover is a very good idea. Has the cover already tested someone with the nimbus stadium saddle?
Thank you very much. That was very helpful to read
I have it on a stadium saddle, It’s a universal fit. I am using it over a kris holme street and free ride also. I like it, it works for me, my standard line is it will make any saddle more comfortable. Best of luck.
Thank you very much.
I have QX Eleven on all my unicycles. I wanted to test it so I bought an air saddle which is quite expansive as it cost me US$180 (shipped to canada) when I can buy a Qx11 for $60. Anyway. I used it for 3 rides of 15km. The first time I didn’t feel any difference. I tried higher, lower, front and back without any change. The second time I did more testing and it was ok, no more. The last, I had to stop as the chaffing was terrible. I must say that with all my testing, I had angled my saddle somehow left and it could be the reason. but a few degrees as never being a real issue until now. I stop for one day, put back my Qx11 and everything came back to normal. The big difference IMHO is the saddle ridge which is more squarrish. I don’t say it is a bad saddle, I just report my own experience.
Darn wish I had seen this before I ordered one. I do have some problem with the pronounced corner on the Nimbus Stadium. Bet the smaller looking front would be nice as well… Guess if I don’t like the Nimbus Air the QX Eleven will be next. Thanks for the info.
Hi pjpsoft,
I ride the QX Eleven, and I’m ok with that. Since I don’t have much comparison to other Muni-saddles, this doesn’t say much. But for the QX Eleven: first time I rode it a lot for several days I got problems with sore skin. After a tip to remove the yellow thread, which is not functional but only decoration, it was much better for me to ride for longer times. Since I saw that still on your saddle, I thought to pass on this info.
Ruka, Thanks for the tip. I have no problem with the QX11 which is perfect for me. I was describing my issue with the Air Saddle.
I know nothing about the air saddle but my experience with the air saddle cover has been good. If you follows the latest rides thread you will see more and more serious riders using them.
Having only been able to ride any reasonable distances on a first generation air seat (the kind that uses a folded up bicycle tube inside it), I started riding with a second generation air seat upon my recent return to unicycling. I’m not certain that I like the second generation better and I may even prefer the first generation air seat. I need to ride more on both before I make a final assessment, but now I’m kind of bummed out that I didn’t swap out my first generation air seat that I included with the (steel-rimmed) Coker I recently sold with a regular unicycle seat and kept the air seat for myself. Oh well, such as life!
Thanks for telling your experiences. The air saddle cover is really one of the first things on my wishlist
