I was wondering how exactly we go about voting in favor of the unicycle
newsgroup once the voting period begins. I’m guessing there are at least a few
other people lurking about on the list who could use this info as well (I
haven’t noticed it on the list before)

If my understanding of the process is right :
In a couple of weeks, or so, a Call For Votes (CFV) will go out on news.groups,
and a copy will be sent to the list. It will contain detailed instructions about
how an e-mail message can be sent to an independent volunteer, who will count
the votes.
Until then, I guess we remain patient and see if there are any objections. (I am
surprised there has been no bites at all so far.)
It seems that posting a CFV on any mailing list which wasn’t disclosed in the
Request For Discussion (RFD) is seriously frowned upon. (I am not sure of the
reason, but people seem to consider it unethical.) So take care where you put
any copies of it, when it arrives - we don’t want to accidentally upset people.
I suspect the biggest problem against the vote will be getting sufficient people
interested enough to vote. (I believe 100 more Yes votes than No votes are
required.)
