One new in box 2009 era NOS Surly Conundrum CRMO steel unicycle frame for a 26” wheel. With fancy custom looking steel brazed lugs and amazing fit and finish- a thing of beauty that makes my pants fit just a little tighter when I look at it!. . . .$400
Its hard to imagine Surly making something so beautiful than pulling the plug on their fledgling unicycle experiment back in 2010 just when fat bikes and fat tires start to explode on the scene. They didn’t make many of these to start with, but this is the last one of the dozen or so frames the Portland Unicycle Bastards got directly from Surly when they closed out the Conundrum.
(Unicycle Bastards . . . remember those punks and this bit of bloody nonsense?: https://vimeo.com/9370997 Surly even sponsored us for a uni-cross season back in the day. We didn’t ride all that hard on the track but we had a lot of fun with it anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pxlab7zlo2w But I digress . . . . . )
The Conundrum has:
- 28.6mm seat tube tho it accepts several sizes of seat posts as it includes shims for different sized seat posts
- Fits 42mm ISIS bearings with 100mm spacing, but also includes shims to allow other bearing diameters
- Has Magura hydraulic rim brake mounts that are designed for brake pad placement on the 65mm Surly Large Marge 26” fat rim.
I also have these items available separately (but they can be shipped together with the frame):
- A new old stock (and it’s no longer made with 36 holes) 36 hole 26” Surly large Marge 65mm wide fat rim with machined brake track and centered spokes. Includes a new rim strip for the fat rim and a new Innova tube that fits the rim and 3.7-4.5” tires: $200
- Surly Larry 26” x 3.7” fat tire with an hour of riding on it: $40
- Old school lightly used Magura HS33 hydraulic rim brakes available- if you need one to go with this frame, set up with custom long crossover tube for the fat tires and line length to reach your handlebar, bled and tested and ready to mount/ride, a couple of color options available: $75
- NOS Kris Holm rail adaptor with brake mounting post: $14
I’m placing these for sale here first before I list them on e-bay.
