M4O Muni L frame is just fine with The Nimbus grey rim + NightRider tyre, this is my set up
Not at the moment, but I will look at this as an option
That looks pretty close near the crown - is it as much as 5mm? I’m wondering how much bigger the diameter of the Aspen would be.
Here’s a thought - have you ever (or could you sometime) measured the circumference of your wheel by rolling it along the ground (at working pressure but no need for load) and measuring the distance travelled for one revolution? Then if @mowcius would be kind enough to do the same with the Aspen tyre we would have comparable circumference measurements for the two tyres, from which we could derive the actual radius of a pumped up tyre. I can’t see that the rim choice will make much difference unless they are very different widths (and your rims are both the same anyway).
Working the other way around, the Muni L apparently has a measurement of 409mm from centre of bearing / axle to bottom of neck, so in theory (admittedly only allowing 1mm gap from top of tyre to bottom of neck) a tyre with a rolling circumference of 2 x π x 408mm = 2563.5mm would fit, just.
The M4O frame has a cap underneath the seat post tube, and you need to remove it to fit the 32” tire. It’s that close to the frame.
Nimbus has a 100 mm 36 frame with disc brake mounts on both sides. You could use that.

Thanks!!
Do you know if that’s the hookless or hooked rim?
They only make one 32” carbon rim, a hooked variant.
First impressions after about 20 miles on that Nextie rim….
- Noticeably lighter, I mean noticeably
- At 35psi (I had the NR at 40) it’s quite skittish and slippy on corners, but fine at 30psi
- Camber issues that seemed to be making life progressively harder on the NR (to the point that I was mostly riding an inferior 29er instead!) are just gone, handling is generally excellent
- Very fast rolling
- My only worry is puncture resistance…there’s not a lot of thickness there, the NR was good at catching sharp stones between the tread before they got to the fabric, that won’t happen here
- Just maybe (??) some issues at a particular angle of lean when the current knobbles catch? But not often enough to be sure, I may be imagining that.
I’m mostly doing light XC and it’s a massive improvement. Amazing to think the NR was a big improvement on the Kent tyre before….
No issue with this pressure? The rim is given for a max of 35 PSI:
Tire Pressure: 20 ~ 35psi
I was planning on trying to go up to 45 because this is the pressure I ride my G36er, even though this is not recommended with this rim.
Do you feel like it rolls better than the NR?
Yeah but don’t you remember when they said the 36” one was good to 60PSI with a NR ![]()
Now they say that one is only good to 30PSI, but I don’t know anyone riding with that low of a pressure and a NR tyre.
I felt it was much faster rolling at low pressures than I expected, but it’s been a long while since I rode the NR 32” so I can’t really compare.
Ahah, that’s the reason why I expect it to be OK at 45 PSI ![]()
Anyway, my rim has been sent last week so it should arrive soon and I’ll check at that moment.
Hum… I may have to buy an Aspen sooner than expected, then ![]()
Nextie says recommended pressure for 32” rim is 20-35. They don’t recommend above 35 but they do not use the word “maximum”.
I did email them to ask if there was an actual maximum, didn’t get a reply…
Faster rolling than the NR? Hard to say, depends on terrain, it feels faster but that might be light weight and acceleration rather than rolling resistance.
We don’t have a maximum from Maxxis for the aspen yet either as far as I know.
Schwalbe is rumored to be unveiling a 32-inch tire as well
Is a 32" G-One tire coming soon to the market? ![]()
The more the merrier.
What made my day, though, is this sentence:
You will most likely see a 36-inch tire on a unicycle.
Same. That was awesome
Not just one, but two articles about 32" bikes, in less than a month!
And a few mentions at Bespoked:
Still waiting for more tires, though…
Curious that we’re in October and still nobody seems to really have them for sale.
I’ve seen a picture of them attached to retail display backing cardboard (mine just arrived bare) but none on shelves yet.
Maxxis have clearly made quite a lot so I wonder what the delay is.
