New 32" tyres - is it what 32" unicycles need to become mainstream?

VITTORIA PEYOTE 32x2,4 is coming. Seen on the UK ICE bike Show.

Nice !

Now we need more XC or even road oriented tires. Not sure 32” is a great size for muni.

Dude it’s the best, but you’ll want some longer cranks

Can people just stop posting 32er posts?!? :star_struck:

I seriously have zero actual need for not quite as big as a 36er but bigger than a 29er wheel…

But new carbon hoops and freshly design mud gripping rubber makes me seriously want a 32er build :face_savoring_food:

Do we think we’re going to start seeing double butted spokes from the likes of Spain in >310mm?

I’m starting to wonder whether I’ll end up with a small stable of 32” unicycles.

I am still loving the 32” aspen for fast off-road but as I ride less, and frequently just do city commuting, a 32” with a quicker tyre might be a good swap for my Nextie 36” unless someone brings out a new lightweight 36” gravel tyre.

I thought you were more into Berds, and I think I recently read somewhere that they make longer “spokes” than 29"…

Yeah I like Berds for the tech and curiosity - but for my tastes I do get a tad more nervous in using this tech when it comes to >29” wheels. Seems just less proven on unicycles. (Tension wise).

If nice double butted spokes turn up for this size - it would be more tempting option that straight gauge vs Berd (and a risk around length / set up complexity).

But I’m pretty much an open book in liking stuff that has a bit of pizazz - think: Enve32” rim (not real yet!), Berd spokes, a tasty hub with hooked flange :gear: - Schwalbe tyre, yep - that’s effectively edible

Please don’t tempt me :see_no_evil_monkey:

Thanks, I already bought one at another shop

Not sure where you can get them, but SE Bikes have also seemingly made some 32” tyres.

Wire bead and relatively heavy so probably not what anyone here wants, but they exist.

I’ve updated the thread title to better reflect the move to discussing a range of 32” tyres.

Apparently a Maxxis Aspen ST at 2.15” has been spotted/discussed somewhere for those narrower tyre aficionados:

Ahh, here I imagine:

They claim 700g, but they also claim 750g for the 2.4” which I weighed at 823g so that’s probably incorrect.
