Near Brum this weekend?

If your near Birmingham ( UK) this weekend and want to pop along to Sandwell
country park for the Red Bull Mountain Mayhem you could come along and cheer on
team MUNI. The first Unicycle team to compete in this 24 hour endurance race.

After we’ve done it we’ll tell you how it went. The Team is Paul Selwood, Sarah
Miller, Miark, Roger Davis and Leo White. We start at 2pm saturday and finish
soon after 2pm sunday.

As is often the case, I was in Brum at the weekend. I decided to go along to
Red Bull but ended up setting out a little later than planned - arriving at
Sandwell Park at 10:30pm. It was dark. No unicyclists in sight. Lots of bikes.
Anyways, I’d taken my uni along and had a good ride around - getting in some
very useful practise riding in the dark. I got chatting to quite a few people.
It seems everybody had seen Team MUNI out on the course and were well impressed

  • none of them knew where the team were camped. Ho hum.

Team MUNI were definitely earning respect for the sport. Good on ya.

Regards, Mark.

Mark.

Sorry you missed us. I think I had just finished a lop at 10.20 on the 26" (my
only lap on the 26") so we would have been have been wandering up from the
finish to our tents. Sarah would have been on the lap while you were there.

I have put a picture of the team up on the website:

Cheers

Roger

Aye, never mind. I knew I was taking a chance turning up on spec (especially at
that time) but it was an interesting trip nonetheless. Maybe I’ll find you next
year…
