Greetings! We were delighted to host John Foss this weekend in our Georgia =
home. He still posesses the skills that you’d expect from a three-time = world
champion, and those skills have not been lost on the MUni trails = of
California. John and I rode a nearby MTB race course on Saturday The =
heavily-wooded, 200-acre site is owned by mountain biker. He suggested = that
some parts of the 7-mile trail would be too tough for unicyclists, = but John
disagreed. John didn’t have a problem with any of it, but I =
did. My uni seemed to be magnetized to trees. The trail is tough. The steep
grades are difficult to climb; = downhill is also a challenge due to the
many rocks. Pecking or hopping = skills are a must. The owner offered to
alter the course for us if we = decide to host a MUni race there. John
suggested that we limit it to = one or two miles. Which brings me to the
purpose of this note. If we host a MUni race = in Georgia this Fall or
next Spring, how many of you would be interested = in attending? We’d
host it properly, with flags, checkpoints, hydration = and onsite medical
services. If you’re interested, let us know. We can’t let those boys in =
California keep all this fun to themselves! Many thanks to John Foss =
for helping us plan this event.

RE: MUni race in Georgia

Though I’ve never MUni’ed before (well, OK, Grass, gravel and dirt roads don’t
count), I certainly would covet the opportunity to rub shoulders with the
“greats” of the sport- and gleen MUni-wisdom from their technique.

John, I think that means I’d be interested…

A sort of East Coast Muni Excursion? I like it.
