MUni in/near Philadelphia, PA?

I’m working on more technical riding now, and am psyched to do some
off-road work. Anyone tried the Wissahickon trails? My current setup
includes a Schwinn cantilever fork, 24" wheel (original uniracer tire),
140 mm cranks (original plastic pedals), and seatpost with homemade
extension. It weighs ~14 pounds, and I wonder if there are
lighter/stronger unis out there that would resist my abuse better? Any
suggestions on crank length, wheel diameter, manufacturer? I’m looking for
something solid and functional, and don’t want to break the bank on such a
purchase. Brendan Kelley
P.S. Where are the southeastern PA riders?

You might want to buy a strong downhill hill, like a Sun Double Wide.
but if you cant afford a double wide I would recommend getting a Sun
Rhynolite. You might also want to get a wider and/or a tire with more
grip. BMX style pedals might be helpful too. If it weights about 14
pounds it's not too bad.
