Hi everyone,
I know of a few frames with disc brake mounts are either out or coming out. But, are there any hubs strong enough for my hardcore abuse, and that have disc brake mounts on them? I want to run a 3.0 gazz tire on a dh disc brake sun rim, since it is more suited for the disc brakes.
when i do get the brakes, what is the thing that people have added to the handle(namely Kris Holm)? Is it used to get more leverage?

Whether the hubs are strong enough for hardcore abuse remains to be seen,
because they haven’t been made yet. To accommodate the disk mount without
widening the frame, the hub must be made slightly narrower and currently
it’s unknown whether this will overly weaken the wheel. Since a standard
bike front disk hub is being modified to make this uni disk hub, I’m
hoping that it will be OK.
My Wilder rails/brake attachment is intended to be used with a brake lever
that also has a dually lever added to it (cut down to about 1/2 its
original length). This is a little piece of aluminum that clamps to the
end of the brake lever and allows you to grip the lever with one finger.
Without this you’d have only the tip of the brake lever to grip, which
won’t work very well. They’re available at unicyclesource.com and some
bikeshops may still stock them (they went out of fashion on bikes quite a
long time ago and they are usually hard to find).
