oops. We still have 5 rotors and plenty of cranks in stock, more rotors coming soon.
Would any Coker riders post the bolt pattern from the lower bearing cap measurements from center to center of the bolt holes please?
same goes for uniâs that arenât KH or Nimbus, (which we already know). For instance, Surley: 2 9/32".
I sent you the measurement for the conundrum frame. I could send you the bearing cap holder if youâd promise to send it back ASAP
I donât think weâll be trying to make models for unicycle brands yet, but Iâm looking for a general range. I donât think the caliper mount will match the styling of any particular frame and instead be more universal. So, for now, the measurement is good. Thanx.
Hey,
FYI - the Magura Marta brake fits a Spooner - see the attached photo. The brake lever is 10-15 mm further from the handle compared to an HS33 rim brake, but itâs workable.
Thickness of the brake caliper outside the disk is about 17 mm.
Kris
Is that an insight into your current ride?
I presume you can adjust the reach a bit on those levers like you can on most brake levers
Are you currently riding a disc? Letâs see it!
Although itâs a project as mentioned, Iâm not at the moment on this one, actually. Anyway this thread is about MountainUniâs setup; just wanted to point out that the Marta fits a Spooner.
Cheers,
Kris
Frame tab on Surly Conundrum 26" frame⌠CHECK!
Sheâs a beauty⌠thanks to brycer1968 for the sweet early morning weld. Everything is working well, took minimal tweaking to get everything set-up now to perfect the braking and break in the padsâŚ
Next⌠Iâm going to paint the frame; stay tuned for the complete system.
The clearance for the crank and bolts are tight but just fine. I was a little worried about the Formula ORO K24 bolt and hydraulic line being on the inside toward the spokes but I actually like it here and there is about 1/2" between it and the spokes.
Here are some pics:
Thatâs a very nice $300 brake. Itâs too bad the levers on magura Louise wonât work?
That looks like your 24"! nicely done! I like how the frame curves around the disk and then that huge tire. I am happy the brake fits past the spokes. The weld looks good! I wonder if youâll set up the Surley 26"? Keep the pics coming, and please tell all about welding, setup, and use. Have you been using brakes, what type, and how does the disk compare?
That IS the 26", I had that welded first because I can put the 24" wheelset and build a 29-er for it too. So far the Formula Oro K24 is working well. I am still putting it all together and likely wonât go for a big ride today. I have maggies on it before and the disk system is MUCH smoother; in addition, I can actually get the wheel to lock-up better without bottoming out the lever. I have a custom handle that brycer1968 made for me which makes the lever easier to grip. More pics to come.
I may have the 24" surly frame welded in the next few weeks or I may just sell it and use the 26" frame for the 24" wheelset⌠weâll see
The bolt on UNI-Caliper Mount should work with 40mm bearings if a UDC bearing shim is used. This can be tested on the Nimbus Titan with square taper setup, or a coker⌠but the coker tire company wonât give me spec on their bearing cap, and I havenât found out center to center bolt pattern for their bearing cap.
Does anyone know the coker bearing cap bolt pattern center to center? Without that, Coker will be left out of the loop. maybe their customers will clamor for a tab mount. I donât know why, but coker is totally indifferent.
i could test it on my nightrider since iâm planning on getting a set of brakes from you guys
MountainUni.com has tested disc brakes on the UDC Nimbus Nightrider⌠It werx gud! We are finishing up the redesign of the bolt-on caliper mount so you can bolt the kit directly to the Nightrider, KH, and likely Coker without welding. Weâll have production within weeks.
Here are a listing of parts, quantity, and assembly instructions for the basic kit.

i meant the shims
how much is the system anyway?
Ditto this, including handle and cranks and everything.
spacers $8
chain ring bolts $12
cranks $70
rotor $70
the lever mount we donât yet have, may produce eventually.
http://www.unicycle.com/unicycle-hardware/brakes/brake-mount-for-kris-holm-style-seats.html/ ($18)
the brakes we arenât stocking yet:
http://www.cambriabike.com/shopexd.asp?id=97005
the link is for a 160mm front pre-bled hayes brake for $50
use 160mm brakes because stand off adapter works on tritons, and with weld on mounts.
probably $230 before shipping.
