Mountain Unicycling in The Catch

Hi

In the latest issue of The Catch there is an article about Mountain Unicycling
in the UK.

Other than the name Duncan Castling, there is no contact information.

I would like to know more about this sport and also the Polaris Challenge.

Does anyone have a contact address/telephone number for Duncan Castling?

Apparently there is another Polaris Challenge in October some time.

Thanks for any information.

Richard

  • BTW, you can buy a video on Rough Terrain Unicycling by George Peck from the
  • Unicycling Society of America for $16 ($23.50 foreign). I haven’t seen it
  • so I won’t say anything good or bad about it.
  • The video listed above is very well done as well as quite humorous. George
shows how to do rough riding and does a good job of encouraging the listener
to go out and ride rough. George often says in the video "A good unicycle
rider could do. . . " (as he is hopping up a almost vertical rock). There is
some good humor in the video for example: George talks about obstacles in your
way that you can’t get around. A picnic table is shown in the middle of a flat
grassy plain. George hops up the picnic table and down the other side. While
he is hopping up and back down, George talks about how a good rider could hop
right up to the top of the table.

If you get a chance I would recommend watching the video. We just showed it to
your club last Friday (since our practice got rained out) and we got a good
reaction from our members.

Back to work to pay for my unicycle addiction . . . -Andy

According to JOHNSON:

  • About how long is this video?
  • How do I order a copy of this video? I would like a copy in British format.
  • Can you do that or will I have to get it converted here?

I have found out that the George Peck video is not sold through the USA but
through Tom Miller at the Unicycle Factory. As for getting it converted to
European format, you will have to convert it. The video is roughly 30 minutes.
