Motorama

It looks like I’ll be able to come for the competition and maybe for Friday also.
I have a few questions:

  1. Do you have to pay an entry fee for Friday?

  2. Do you have to pay an entry fee to go see other stuff on Saturday after the comp is over?

  3. Do I need to do anything besides send in my notarized entry form?

  4. Is safety equipment required (helmet, 661s, etc.)

  5. What happens after the comp is over?

  6. Can people ride on the course after the comp is over?

  1. Probably not if you’re helping set up.

  2. Nope.

  3. Besides the $30, nope. You’ll get a packet in the mail.

  4. I believe the minimum is helmet, knee/shin pads, and gloves.

  5. We play around on obstacles a bit more, then tear down the course.

  6. Yes, the uni course gets torn down soon after, but the bike course stays up and can be ridden on.

Is there anybody from the Philadelphia area driving out to Motorama on Friday afternoon, who might be able to pick me up from Swarthmore college?

Ben

you can count me in. im going to get there friday sometime. anybody have a general address so i can refresh my memory as to how to get there. once close i can follow the signs to the farm show complex. also is there room in any of the hotels where i can join in like last time to help curb the hotel costs. and lastly if i sign up on saturday it just costs a little extra and thats it right? b/c im going to be competing in the uni trials and in the bike trials hopefully.

I’m not going, its the same weekend as thon.

uniracer:

For directions to Motorama, MapQuest to Cameron St. Harrisburg, PA. The Farm Show Complex is basically located at the intersection of Maclay St. and Cameron St in Harrisburg.

I believe it does cost a little more if you register on Saturday as opposed to registering early, but I’m not exactly sure by how much though.

Jeff

anybody got hotel space i can get in on? i dont really want to rent a room full price if i dont have to but if i cant find someone to room with ill have to before they are all booked…

I was wondering if anyone was going from the Ottawa Area, or the Toronto area??
If so, could i hitch a ride and throw in for gas??
Thanks.

hey kyle its joel ill hook you up with a room email me at burg_01 at hotmail.com and as long as its good ill have my car there …

joel, e-mail sent.

I can now make it up earlier on Friday, like noon-1PM. Is that too late to help out with set-up? Also, sorry to be a bother, but before I reserve a room all to myself, would anyone else like to $plit theirs once more? All I need is a little floor space.

Also, I’ve got some trials stuff:
large tire with plywood disk
large hinged sandwich boards
4X4 posts, maybe one foot high

Should I bring them? I’ll take some pics/video tomorrow so you can see what I’m talking about.

i hope i can come and watch

Anybody who plans on attending Motorama should E-mail me at unicyclejoe at yahoo dot com or just post your E-mail address so I can get a better idea of who is going and get a couple group mailings out before the event, also if you could include in your Email/post
If you are going to be there for set up.

Frank 12-1 is definitely not too late for helping with set up, any trials stuff you have that you can bring would definitely be put to good use, I plan to bring as many of my trials obstacles as I can. There will also be floor space left in the Team TheDan.com room, there are 3 or 4 people staying in there so far and anyone who still needs a place to stay is welcome, however anyone who has been to a Motorama or almost any other trials event for that matter knows of Team TheDan.com and our Après unicycling antics.

hahaha yeah my e-mail address is gravityjunkie247@yahoo.com and yeah the thedan.com team antics are quite amusing:D

As mentioned, I plan to be at Motorama for setup day (Friday 2/17) around 9:00 - 9:30 AM. My cell phone is 201-294-5249 if anyone has questions or would like to meet me on Friday for course set up. Parking should be free on Friday. If you are questioned, just say you are there for unicycle trials course setup.

A parking pass should be included in your registration packet for the Saturday event or else you will have to pay.

Parking is at the “Equine Arena” (an indoor all-dirt arena) section of the Farm Show Complex. There may or may not be signage indicating where the parking lot is for it. In worse case, you may have to ask around for directions. I myself can get lost sometimes. The place is massive.
