Maryland Muni ride March 25, 2012

On Sunday March 25, paxuni from Southern Maryland will be joining me for a muni ride in Germantown, MD. We will ride about 10 miles either at Schaeffer Farm or the new Seneca Ridge Trail. For those of you not familiar with these trails, there are lots of hills, roots and rocks. Start time has not been set yet but will not be before 10 am. If you are interested in joining us let me know.

Thanks munimag… I’m looking forward to riding some new trails with company.

If anyone is looking to make a uni weekend out of this in Maryland I am also planning on riding the United Way 26 miler along the scenic Indian Head Rail Trail on Saturday March 24. Other than the distance the terrain is flat, straight and unchallenging. However, the trail passes through woods and water lined vistas. Last year there was 100 *ikes- there has to be room for a few one wheelers!

Why a big uni weekend? My wife and daughter are on a road trip to Virginia. There could be some accommodation options for out-of-towners at my place. I’m an hour plus away from Indian Head and two plus to Germantown.

Looks like we will have a group

So far I have heard from three others who would like to join us on the 25th in Germantown. Should be a good time.

I will do my best to join you depending on family commitments.

We will ride the trails at Schaeffer Farm in Germantown, MD on Sunday, March 25th. We will meet in the parking lot at 10 am.

darn…

Sure wish I could join you guys for another Muni ride in my old home state!

Schaeffer Farm is a great place to ride. I rode a good bit of it with Munimag last October, the trails are perfect for muni & XC, but the best part of the ride was having the company of one of my childhood unicycle riding buddies – 40 years after our last ride together!

Rock-on Munimag, and all y’all in the Old Line State!

Cheers,
Bert

Bert - next time you come to Maryland for a visit we will schedule another ride. Take care.

Bert, sorry I missed your Maryland visit last fall. I was aware of Munimag’s existence from his video and other posts but had never reached out to him- sorry Claude. I didn’t know you knew each other so well. Maryland North of DC is a two plus hour drive from Southern Md.

I’m really looking forward to next weekend’s MUni cycle gang get together. I’ve ridden alone the last five months :frowning:

I spend my Summers paddling racing kayaks and my Winters pedaling unicycles- great aerobic work out, good for core and awesome balance- helps in tippy performance boats and just brilliant fun whether on the road or in the woods!!! Today I did both sprint boat paddling on the lake and MUni pedaling in the woods

Munimag has mustered a sizeable group for next weekend’s ride and it will be well worth the trip to join this ‘big’ sojourn.

See y’all next Sunday
