Mad4One Questions

27.2 for M4O aluminum frames
25.4 for M4O URC steal frames

Thank you all, now the only thing I don’t know about is whether to get the wide or narrow cushion for the Handle Saddle M. If it helps, I currently use the Nimbus Freestyle saddle, and I don’t really have problems with it.

I ordered the wide cushion, and often wish for and/or wonder if I should have ordered the narrow. The medium sometimes rubs between the legs. I had a hard time determining on the M4O website whether the narrow saddle is more narrow in the crotch/between the legs, or just more narrow in the sit-bone area.

You are younger, and may still be more narrow than you will be as an adult, so I expect that the narrow will suit you well.

Maybe someone that rides a M4O narrow handle saddle will add their opinion?

Lastly, it might be a good idea to send a message/email to Marco at M4O to get his opinion. He was very accessible, and responded very quickly to my questions when I was building my Purple Fat 24 unicycle.

Thanks for sharing. I think my Shimano came with limited adjustment options. I’ve adjusted it as close to the handle as possible. While I know it can be mounted on the bar, I prefer to use the lever mount to keep it more centered. This allows me to brake with either hand and provides more protection for the lever from impacts.

I also have a wide cushion that sometimes rubs against my thigh. However, I found the cushion at the saddle’s center to be as narrow as the metal bar. I wonder how narrow a narrower version is.

Is that Handle Saddle S or M?

I have been wondering the same exact thing. Maybe the narrow is just narrower at the sit bones?

That looks like a Medium.

Here is a Long

And here is a Medium

The Small looks to be the same overall length as a normal saddle with plastic handle.

@Syoten I tried the central mount for a while, then tried it direct on the bars, and its much more accessable and user friendly. I tend to use my left hand for the brake, however I can still reach the lever with my right fingers if I need to.
I have the lever kinked over towards the centre anyway, so the lever is out of the way of any damage. Had mine on the bars 1 year maybe, and really no difference central mount vs direct on the bars for damage risk.
A few pictures for you, lever on max reach vs lever full adjust towards the bars. Right and left hand access for lever. Really its easier for both hands to reach the lever as you save a good inch vs the mount.

Give it a go, you will be a convert

Red + orange, are you sure? :face_with_monocle:

I feel like it would make a good combination. Doesn’t it?

MANY examples of orange and red exist in nature. Sunsets, flowers, etc.

Here is a real-world non-nature example, followed by a couple real-world nature examples.

I’m going for a nice, visible, and pretty firey color. Looking at this, I think it’l work

Your color combination of red frame, orange saddle, black rim, and gold seat post clamp is very similar to the color palette in that last image above.

I am now thinking of coloring the rim though…

Also, one thing to remember is that the M4O website does not allow you to pick a seat post color other than black when you are building a unicycle. HOWEVER, you can choose a seat post color by emailing Marco at Mad4One amd letting him know about your order.

It’s a fun process, isn’t it?

Since I am short, I don’t think the seatpost will be showing much at all for a few years, and I’m okay with a few black colored parts, such as the tire… and I’m not thrilled that I have to pay extra for the rim color, still considering it. Also don’t know if the rim color should be red, orange, or gold. Not sure which one would be best.
