Looks of geared uni in action?

Now that more people have seen and tried Harper’s geared uni I’m
curious about what it looks like in action. From the pics on Greg’s
wonderful web reports I would say that the thing looks quite
unsuspicious on a still photo.

But if you ride it in the street at moderate speed, does the average
spectator notice anything special about it? And secondly, to someone
watching who is used to seeing regular uni’s (or rides him/herself),
is it immediately obvious that this uni is geared?

I added a couple of photos of it from this morning to my “Our Cycles” album
on webshots at http://community.webshots.com/album/29172825KykoOOuIOY

It looks funny to me seeing people ride it at any speed. And when I go by
someone at full speed they seem to be a little amazed. It’s weirdest to the
unicyclist when mounting!

The average spectator will say “Look, it’s a guy on a tricycle!” or similar
standard response. Non-unicyclists will see a unicycle.

I don’t think people would notice unless they were paying attention. Unless
the person is going real fast! Then I think you would notice a lack of
furious pedaling.

I rode the 1.5 yesterday. My report will follow soon!
