Girls that uni…movie!!

Hey Lauren and nikkifrog!!

I know that you were talking about this some time ago…but, on the subject of girls that uni…

I was keeping this whole idea secretive up until now…BUT:
I am making a unicycling movie which should be the first one in its class

If you are a girl:

Would you be at all interested in filming with me?..say, at NAUCC 2004 in SLC, Utah? or a MUni weekend? or sending me some footage of you riding? even if you can’t do very EXtreme stuff, i’d still be glad to welcome you to the movie cast…and it doesn’t matter what type of riding you do, either…

Well, g2g for now…
Laterz!

yeah i know how you feel i rode 3 miles in jeans and ouch!

I find that if I’m wearing my leg armor along with my cycling shorts I stay relatively warm, even in sub-zero weather. Of course, I’m usually riding more difficult terrain in sub-zero weather (e.g. through snow drifts) so I keep my heart rate up.

I’m not a girl, but I am the one on the right. Hope to see you at MoabMUni Fest 2004!

My longest ride to date was 1.5 kilometers, or 14 laps around the elementary school parking lot.

I also nailed my first freemounts today (batting about 0.3 by the end of the session, but I should be 0.95 tommorow after I’ve had a good sleep). I lowered my seat an inch and said “I’m not going in until I get at least one!”

It was rather easy once I weaned myself from the bad habit of hoisting myself up with my back foot. That worked fine when I was leaning on something, but made the unicycle rocket backwards while freemounting.

So, modest accomplishments, but despite my risque cycling shorts, I’m quite chuffed!!

(Word has it that lycra, while supremely stylish on a bike, is somehow indecent on a unicycle, so I wore sweatpants for camouflage.)

Maybe that is a misconception. Rather, I think, word has it that lycra
is somehow indecent for a cyclist, but many bicyclists don’t care
while most unicyclists haven’t overcome their shame yet.

Are there bicyclists on this list who do wear lycra on their bike and
not on their uni for the reason that it is indecent?

(Oh and congrats on the freemount. I had the same problem as you and
it required months of practice.)
