I had my first serious go at long jump on a unicycle. I was surprised at the
success I had and was wondering
a) Can anyone point me towards the IUF rules for long jump
b) What the current world record is
My current personal best is 1.75m which unfortunately trashed another pair of
expensive cranks

I would be fascinated to know what the records from Japan are, and if/when the
events in which they were set deviate from the IUF way of doing them.
Perhaps the pertinent information, in English, could be sent to the person that
maintains (or posted) the records page on unicycling.org.
Meanwhile, I’m not sure if we here in the West have a copy of the results from
the UNICON X long jump competition. If I remember correctly, a record was set
either there or at NUC. Who has this information?

The Unicon X long jump was not run by the Chinese. I have the data. Now that
people mention it, I haven’t put it in the records database that I have. I’ll
get it in there for those who are interested here are the results for Unicon X:

This reminds that the world records at unicycling.org are out of date and do not
reflect many new records in Japan. I believe I have been sending John Foss a
book with all the records in Japan every year. John, are you maintaining the
page? Maybe the Japanese threw you off

Jose Roman, in his hey days, would successfully jump over 5 persons at shows
here in Puerto Rico. Even if they were small kids, I am sure that it was easily
over two meters.
Unfortunately, as people who attended UX knows, he now weights about 60 pounds
(25 KGS) more, so I would not volunteer now to lie down.

I ran the long jump and high jump at the 2000 NUC in Adrian, and Dan Heaton did
2.25 m there.
