live video: unicycle basketball

A live video feed of Team Semcycle, unicycle basketball practice, will
broadcast from Michigan to the internet. The video transmission will start at
8:00 p.m. eastern standard time on wednesday, June 14, 2000. The practices
usually last until 9:30 or 10:00p.m. While the video may be choppy, so is some
of the basketball. Team Semcycle is on their way to UNICON X in Beijing, China
July 30th.

Cool! I will try to log in at the end of my work day (we stay till 5:30
Pacific). I’ll see how many of my coworkers I can gather round the screen.

Who/how many from Team Semcycle are going to UNICON?

Re: live video: unicycle basketball

Unfortunately there was a slight oversight on my part, Everything was in order
for the live video feed of the unicycle basketball practice except one important
thing: a phoneline outlet. The church that we practice in has no phone lines
anywhere near the gym and all of the offices that have phones are locked up. We
are going to try and get permission to access these phones in the future. I
apologise to anyone who stood around looking at a blank box on their screen.
Team Semcycle USA did practice hard and there where only minor injuries
including Aristide Abrahams nose (“I think it’s broken”).

Wow, you guys practice hard! I can’t wait to watch you play the “old gang”
from Puerto Rico (also known for full-on play)!

Great news. The Abrahams are great players and I understand that they have been
practicing hard to put up an excellent team. The Germans should also field a
strong team. We have been trying to do just that here in Puerto Rico.

Win or lose, it is a wonderful opportunity to put up a show for the uni
community and the Chinese fan that will result in a revived interest for
basketball in unicycle, worthy of a world championship.

Quebec, where are you?

Win or lose (and we will try to win) it is a pleasure to be able to play Team
Semcycle. There are not that many teams of that caliber around. We (Semcycle and
PR All Star) really should look for a way to meet periodically. I hope that we
will get many fans in Beijing for that game. We must also beware of Team
Germany. I understand that they are pretty good. Alberto Ruiz
