Just to come right out with it, not trying to be controversial but, I feel strongly that “uning” should be an acceptable form of the unusual contraction uni’ing, short for unicycling. Rant over. Happy unicycling to us all. I’ll be uning at my usual uni spot.

I mostly just say it the long way… I am always unicycling :face_with_monocle: I am out riding my unicycle :face_with_monocle: Or, if I’m riding my 36er… I’m doing a little bit of high rolling :top_hat:

Uning sounds incomprehensible. I sometimes say uni-ing.

“Uning” sounds cleaner than “uni’ing.” If more riders use it, it might just stick.

The good news, for better or worse, is that there are maybe around five people who are at risk of hearing me say the word uning. The post was an offhand thought. I find license for a silly opinion in the fact that searching the unicycle topic turns into the circus pretty quick, clowns everywhere.

Such is the bias. Learn to juggle on a unicycle to turn the preconception into a fact :wink:
I don’t hear the circus or clown thing too often, and when I do it’s mostly not meant in an offensive way. Still, it kinda sucks that people don’t have a broader view of uning (yes, I did it).

I learned juggling too because people expect it from unicyclists. It’s fun, but why is juggling not actually off topic on a uni forum :laughing:

Dropped or UPDed- in the end uning and juggling let you crawl on the floor.

You can be reasonably good at either of the two, but that doesn‘t mean you can juggle while riding a uni. It‘s just much more difficult than you would expect.

Indeed holding a seat between the legs, uning and juggling is tough. Without the seat it works.

@unikyt juggles on the uni while kiting, look at his avatar in the above thread. Pretty cool. We agree that normal straight riding while juggling is not that hard to do.

Without good UW skill, I barely have been able to mount the UW and get stable fast, juggling in a stable second was feasible anyway.
