Level 10 in under 2 years

Wow! What were the ages of the other 4 when they achieved this? Maybe Mr. Grove could capture the other end of the spectrom!

Christopher LeFay

I’m 49 years old and have been unicycling for 38 years. I just passed level 3 tonight riding with the Panther Pride Demo Team. I felt great (and I still feel great) but Ryan rules.

They were in the range of age 16 - 18.

Who are the level 10 riders?

Ryan of course, Dustin K , Dana S. and who else? Barb K.

Greetings

>Who are the level 10 riders?

Here are the level 10 riders. The dates and ages are when they passed
level 10. The last number is how long it took from starting to unicycle to
passing level 10. Dana Schneider - 9/29/1997 - Age 17 - About 6 years Ryan
Wood - 1/27/1999 - Age 16 - 4 years Ashley Wood - 12/5/2000 - Age 15 -
Just under 5 years Irene Genelin - 12/11/2000 - Age 16 - About 4 years
Ryan Woessner - 11/13/2001 - Age 13 - Under 2 years

All are members of Twin Cities Unicycle Club. I had the honor of testing
three of these people for level 10.

These are truly amazing achievements. No doubt we now need higher levels
so that these outstanding rider have higher goals to aim for.

I believe those five riders are well beyond the need for levels. There are
still plenty of goals to aim for though. They can set an example in the
artistic competitions by breaking new ground or refining what’s already
been done. They can teach lots of new riders. They can become more
involved, if interested, in running the unicycling organizations. They can
be general role models for up-and-coming riders. They can write for the
newsletter and newsgroup…

“Mr. Grove???”… that’s my DAD! So is “Sir”.

Okay LeFay. Obviously I’m going to have to graduate beyond the 58 yards
mighty soon. And wait till I get my Coker!

Which brings me to the question. In level 10… How the hell can one
“Demonstrate 10 types of mounts”!!!??? And does sex on a unicycle count as
one of them. (or maybe more!)

The question may have been retorical, but:

Standard

Leap Mount (hand on)

Suiside Mount (Leap, hand off)

Leap mount with Uni facing you, turn Uni while in air

Leap mount with Uni away from you, spin self while in air

Side mount

Foot around (Stand on lead foot, with off foot on same side, take foot around seat to pedal… increase orbits of foot before pedal contact to increase difficulty)

Hands free mount (involves steping on pedal/crank arm, then pulling seat up with back foot)

Ok, that’s 8, I’m dry.

(and no, I can’t do all those… just the first 2 reliably)

In our circles, mounting should mean mounting a unicycle, not mounting a
female. So the answer is no, it doesn’t count.

I am amazed by the frankness of the responses on the “making love”
thread, in view of the generally very tactful statements in the “man and
seat” issue.

You forgot the “Swallow the unicycle and wait for it to come out your

Level 10 madness

Gee wiz. Level 10 in under 2 years? That’s MADNESS. Very impressive to say the least, though.

Say, can anybody tell me if there’s an “official” out on the West coast who could sign my brother and me off on the first 3 levels? It seems like anybody who could do that lives in Minnesota. We’re out in Los Angeles. Drop me a line if you can help us out. onlyonewheel@unicyclist.com

Congrats to Ryan ! ! !

P.S. I like that name…Ryan…cuz that’s my name too.
