Lance Armstrong is going for his Seventh Win in the tour day France.
Too bad the last two days of the Tour overlaps UNICON in Switzerland. Could affect attendance at the tour.

Wow, that’s awesome! I really didn’t expect him to race in the TDF this year. It’s surprising to see him ride so many other races this year as well. Viva La Lance!
i’m not even sure why this is news. i read quite some time ago, that with the Discovery channel taking over sponsor ship from the USPS, that they’d be idiots to not include a contractual stipulation that Lance ride, at least this first year for them. And i think lance knew that, and i thought the matter was actually closed. The rumours about him not doing the tour and just doing other races seemed less than credible anyway. regardless i’ll be cheering for him, yet again.
i think that we should send lance a unicycle and a letter after he retires and get him to learn to unicycle
yeah, i’ll sign that card
what will the inscription be?
i agree with all that. can he do it again this year? man i dont know. i tend to think im going to hear Phil Ligget say “HE’S CRACKED, THE 6 TIME TOUR CHAMPION HAS CRACKED!, i cant belive it Paul but we all knew it…just…had…to …be…somday”
-back from commercial-
" well Paul here is #1 laboring at the back of the pack as the Pelaton drives ahead…a truly sad day…but a historic one indeed… heres Adrian Carstan with a look back."
i don’t know if he can do it again. i think if he avoids crashes there isn’t a man alive that can touch him. all he has to do is stay out of the crashes and pick his spots and he’s golden. that’s not always easy though, and who kows, Ulrich, or hamilton or someone might have a good enough team to keep lance in line…
i can’t remember the guy’s name, but the youngster who wore yellow for a while this year seems to have the guts 'n glory approach that could make him a future champ
the penultimate day that he wore yellow was one of the more impressive displays of non-armstrong/non-indurain riding the tour’s seen for a while
it’ll be interesting to see if 2005 will be his year
in a way i feel sorry for armstrong
he’s almost caught in a situation where the cycling community won’t allow him to retire at the top
it’s as tho they will insist that he rides untill he’s beaten
right after the 2004 tour, writers were allready saying that he must ride again else the next champion will allways feel that his victory is tainted by the ‘but-could-lance-have-beaten-him’ brush
Isnt UNICON in 06’?
Doh! I knew that. :o Thats what I get for a too quick post over my too short lunch. I picked up the date from that german pdf. Hope no one changed their travel plans yet.
I had heard from the start too that Discovery Channel would probably make him go for seven. Yesterday the news said it was officially on his race calendar.
Even if he doesn’t win he (and his $pon$or) will get tons of attention.
Re: Lance going for Seven
That’s what Lance must have thought too. Therefore, he has chosen to do the Tour in 2005, in order to be free to go to Unicon in 2006.

Edit: add
Thomas Voeckler.
About LA, there is obvious pressure for him to ride this year. But I’m sure even he personally wants the 7th one to put it beyond the reach of any other. But quitting when you’re winning can be hard. Indurain should have quit but for obvious reasons he went for the 6th title. Lance has done that…he should quit before he gets beaten by some young upstart…He’s not a young upstart but Ulrich deserves more than 1 title…
I think Lance should concentrate more on the 10K unlimited at UniCon…
