Koxx 1 Light cranks?

Sorry for being somewhat rude in my last post.

If Koxx has indeed changed their hub specs over time that would probably imply some changes of the cranks as well, right? So has anyone tried if the latest Koxx light cranks fit on KH, Qu-ax or Onza hubs? Now that would be something new.

Sorry, I did not mean to be abrupt either. I do not question the findings of Roger or Kris Holm. That was not the intent of the responce, if it came off that way I appologize.

I am not more important than anyone. I am just trying to find concrete evidence as to what works and what does not. I have found (as have others) that there is no issue with K1 cranks on numerous other ISIS spec spindles. The question is whether non K1 cranks fit on to current K1 hubs. To this end, there is little hard evidence one way or another currently.

I accept any outcome there might be, just that getting facts (as opposed to conjecture) seems to be hard to come by.

Again, I appologize for any statements made that may have been construed as questioning anyones integrity. The facts are all I am after.

I wonder if i ordered koxx cranks and they did not fit on a kh hub, if i could return them from where ever i got them?

Someone with a video camera make a nice video, with great lighting, showing you putting one all ISIS cranks onto a KH hub, then all ISIS cranks onto a K1 hub.

If I had the hubs and cranks, I would of done this already so people can actually see what fits and what doesnt.

Ok so I tried this out.

The koxx cranks fit very easily onto the kh hub. I can put them on most of the way with my hand before even threading the bolt on. Once they are tighted down I can’t feel any wobbling or anything so I don’t see any problems riding it like that.

I tried to put the kh cranks on the koxx hub and just like everyone has been saying, it doesn’t work. The KH cranks go on a very little amount then don’t go on anymore, I am just pushing them on with my hands. The cranks won’t slide on enough to even thread the axle bolt in. I didn’t want to force it on so I didn’t smack it or anything to see if it would taper more.

Here are pictures just for fun…

and attempt of putting KH cranks on K1 hub
(It is harder to take a picture with my webcam when there is a wheel attached)

Its pretty low quality but its with the webcam in my computer.

Nice work Spencer!

Is it just me, or does the KH hub have a kind of ball type end, similar to an Allan key with a ball on the long end.

Thank You!

Thanks Spencer!! That is exactly what I was looking for, recent hard evidence. Now, for taking your time… e-mail me (tim@trialsin.com) and I’ll get you hooked with a couple 19" IRC tubes.

Cool, thanks!

I am lacing that KH hub into my wheel so the koxx hub isnt laced to anything anymore so I was able to take a closer up picture.

This is as far as I can get the KH crank on the koxx hub by hitting it with my hand and like I said before the axle bolt isn’t long enough to even reach the axle.

My attempt to show from the other side too…

Ok, one more thing. I noticed the ISIS bolts that came with my KH hub were much longer than the Koxx axle bolts that I had so I used those and it thread into the axle and I was able to tighten it more, I think I got it about half way on then it got really hard to keep turning and I didn’t want to force it and ruin my splines.

When the KH crank is on the Koxx hub you can see that the splines are slightly different shapes. Not sure if its supposed to be like that, I would assume not.

O MAN THANKS SPENCER, NOW I CAN PUT THE 110’S ON MY 26er!

gd work spencer, good news, cause teh koxx cranks come in more sizes than the KH ones, so hopefully they can fit ok, i’m not sure i believe the whole, not tight enough so will wear out bussiness…

but then again i probs wont ever risk it.
