I just got my 26" Semcycle XL from unicycle.com, and after fighting with
the @#&!*#@! tire trying to get it seated evenly on the rim I took it out
for a ride. The tire still wasn’t seated quite right but it was close.
Kinda cool, being able to go faster than on my 20". I didn’t try
freemounting it though. The Semcycle seat is comfortable but no handle
makes it difficult to grab while dismounting, so I put my Miyata seat on
it and stuck the Semcycle seat on my 20". Hopefully now I can keep up with
my riding buddies on their Cokers a little better, without hurting myself.
I skinned my knee badly last Friday night in a most spectacular fall right
in front of a bunch of people. How embarrassing.
Yup, and I messed with it for quite a while too, deflated and reinflated
it about 8 times or so. I’ve got it now to where only a couple of spots
are slightly farther in the bead, and hopefully I can get it straightened
out with a little use. I was thinking about putting some silicone
lubricant on the bead to help it seat, but that may just make it slip off.
It was kind of hard to remove the tire though, so that may just work.
