I liked the “Bean” character the few times that I’ve seen him on PBS here in the USA, but I’m wondering if this movie will be any good. Has anyone seen it yet?
Re: Johnny English
i saw it a couple of weeks ago
if u want to turn your mind right off and go have a couple of laughs for an hour and a half, this is your movie
the plot-twists, nay plot-curves, are very predictable
and i mean very
as in a ‘kris holm is very good’ kinda very
there are a couple of funny scenes not featured in the trailer and this is allways a good thing
seeing john malkovich again is another treat alltho i couldn’t help but wonder if he misread a contract at some stage…
thanx to the medical aid i belong to now, i get to see movies at about 1/4price
i was particularly glad of that after seeing johnny english
Oh how I love Mr. Bean and Rowan Atkinson. I going to get Johnny English on DVD soon. I had to agree with Dave Gild. If you want to turn your mind right off and go for a couple of laughs for a hour and a half, This is your Movie. And yes that is my Movie.

Dude, my last name is Atkinson! I’m related to Mr. Bean!
Did you know that Mr. Bean was in Star Wars? He was shot down by Darth Vader, but you can’t really tell it’s him because of the orange goggle helmet thing.
Dude, no way. Unless of course he’s like you grandparent’s brother’s grandson’s cousin or someting like that.
Anyway I like Atkinson’s one man show material that he used to preform (still does?) more than Mr. Bean, but i still like bean. Hope to get that complete bean DVD thingy
Or perhaps, because it’s somebody else ?
Perhaps had you said, ‘Did you know Cliff Clavin was in Empire Strikes Back at Hoth?’ that would have ‘Bean’ more accurate
Atkinson was, however, in a James Bond film.
That’s True. I saw that Movie not long ago on T.V. And it wasn’t a bad one either.

Johnny English on DVD
I rented the DVD last night. Entertaining enough, several good loud LOL’s. Could have done without some of the sexual innuendo for a PG film but that’s just the prude in me. (And Pirates of the Caribbean got PG13 with no innuendo, go figure.)
Did anyone else notice the unicycles at 1:09? A rider dressed as a copper rides into the frame pushing the front fork and handlebars from a bike to simulate a bicycle. He goes into a pinwheel with a rider dressed as the stereotypical crook and then the scene cuts away.
I just love this movie. I’ve watched it five times now. And still I laugh at it everytime. I also have the whole collection of Mr. Beans as VCR’s at home. And that almost one man show he does, on DVD.
British humor is the best. Has always been, and will always be. One of my favorites is The League of Gentlemen. And Coupling.
At first I said, ‘Mr Bean is talking…that’s not right’
Of course, I got used to it. He is a very talented actor, just when you forget about his slapstick humour because he’s been ‘normal’ for quite some time, he does something, a little expected, but way funnier than you were picturing.
I enjoyed the movie. It’s not fantastic, but I had a lot of laughs the 1-2 hours of my life watching it.
